  2. @Atrik, bouncing is expected since you are using linear pushing, and that's how springs work. A simple "fix" (or at least to show where I think the problem comes from) I just tried is not to keep pushing when the object is already moving away. In these test videos, I split all elephants in two groups and make them move against each other, press abort, make them go through a narrow path to attack a structure, and when they are concentrating on top of where that was, press abort. Notice the lack of bouncing in the second video (the one with my change) after pressing abort: Recording 2026-09-30 104423.mp4 Recording 2026-09-30 104650.mp4 The code I added to UnitCollision.cpp before the last line shown: const CFixedVector2D relativeVelocity = a.velocity - b.velocity; const fixed separatingVelocity = relativeVelocity.Dot(offset); if (separatingVelocity >= fixed::Zero()) distanceFactor = entity_pos_t::Zero(); CFixedVector2D pushingDir = offset.Multiply(distanceFactor); The fix doesn't have to be exactly like this, it could be a function depending on the relative velocity vector for example (to better handle any unwanted increased overlapping), but I think that's a simple way to add non-linearity, besides being realistic: a push is a force applied in a certain time interval (impulse), and this process is usually more inefficient if during this time the object moves away, because what's pushing falls behind of what's pushed. This is related to mechanical impedance, and that's why springs react more when pushed at their resonance frequency, since that timing doesn't fall behind, nor gets past, the points of most efficient energy transfer. I didn't notice a big difference when they went through the narrow path, but the unit's rotation when pushed seems to be quite a problem. I'd make torque effects more inefficient by, quite obviously, either making them more spherical or changing their moment of inertia, if that's how things are implemented (I haven't checked that).

  4. Create something similar for my mod using AI—it might be interesting: In this new combat mode, it's possible to play using area control or head-on battles like in *Total War*; for my futuristic mod, I intend to focus primarily on area control, though nothing stops me from removing the control points and reverting to classic *Total War*—if one can even call it that.
  5. https://www.danielkirkpatrick.co.uk/irish-history/irish-iron-age-chariot/ https://www.researchgate.net/publication/246543302_Iron_Age_chariots_and_medieval_texts_a_step_too_far_in_breaking_down_boundaries I've found some articles arguing for chariots at least. Although i dont know if there is a consensus.
  6. Maybe based on bronze age weapons? But they are outdated for this period (and more like axes, or picks than medieval halberds) https://www.mooregroup.ie/2012/05/galway-bronze-age-halberd/ https://www.academia.edu/6095439/The_Early_Bronze_Age_Halberd_in_Ireland_Function_and_Context

  8. Main issue is that the video is done post release bundles, so the url isn't known. You could point to release video playlist though. It should probably be the no cookie variant as well. Well the issue (being on most if not all of the 0 A.D. discords) is that most developers won't be there. So if I say this discord is official (one of them kinda is, as it's in the linktr.ee) then you will have 50 people there maybe, but no one from the team to talk to. This might be alright, but my feeling was people wanted to interact with us more than they wanted just a discord
  9. Maybe we could have a link to the video when you download a new version of 0ad. Just made a PR for this #9266
  10. This is true NGL, I absolutely despise TikTok and YT Shorts, I would rather a smaller more wholesome fan base than the type of people that such things would draw in. The last update did have a promotional video, not sure why only a few people seem to have seen it:
  11. A Zoroastrian (left) and Muslim woman from Persia in the late 19th century. during that time Hijab was not forced. so Zoroastrian were covered. still they wear most covered in India or others. the clothes in public related to many factors and the people in society chosen up to their living places. as i see covering or wearing like Hijab(not chador, cover body and head) does not only related to Iranians too. even in Russia, to India existed. Zoroastrian in India you see, they wear mostly covered. we can say by that Zoroastrian was a common religion that time, so this kind of suit was a heritage. Chador before used for both men and women but most women for security in traveling or not be seen unwanted with some reason. it could be not being visible a rich man for poor people. as i see almost women putting something on head, like hat or a cloth, it existed in many ethnic historical.
  12. FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUDDDDDDGGGGGGEEEEEE, there goes my hope then I can only really hope that activision also gets a bit of a restructuring itself and loses a few managment middlemen (doubtful)
  13. Hello, about this matter. I have a YouTube channel dedicated to strategy games with about 11K subscribers, and I want to upload more 0 A.D. content. I have analyzed the game social networks and they look kinda unproffessional, abandoned and even fanmade. These are the problems I have found: 1. There is no official Discord server. It is the most popular video game platform and social network in the world and 0 A.D. has no presence there. Most newbie players tend to look for a Discord server to know more about the game, but there are a lot of scattered and dead servers that make it impossible to build an informed community. I have also read some discussions about a Discord server, but it seems it has been unilaterally discarded by some forum admins, instead of voted by the whole community. 2. Instagram account lacks SEO, depends a lot on post format and does not have vertical videos, which probably means, it recycles content from YouTube. Instagram, TikTok and YT Shorts/content must be made appart from the common YouTube content, as they aim to a different target public and social network usage. 3. There is no video editor dedicated to upload videos to the 0 A.D. YouTube channel. The last update did not has any promotional video even though it is one of the most important updates the game has had. There must be someone and maybe several users in charge of community managing to generate an eficient and organic growth in social media networks. What I advise is creating a Communications Team, in charge of making periodic content for every social network, at the beginning: consolidate Instagram and YouTube channel with at least 10K followers and subscribers. An official Discord server must be set as soon as possible to communicate with potential players/donators in an easier, better known and more direct way. Discord server and YouTube memberships could work to attract more donators and share the game.
  14. Do you have an ad blocker? I think it showed up correctly when I disabled it
  15. There is no iron age halberds. I don't know what @Duileoga meant by Alabardero. Battle chariots are attested through the finding of horse bits (snaffles), yoking fittings (such as terrets/rein-rings), iron tire fragments and bronze axle-caps. I think several items of those categories have been reliably found in Ireland.
  16. For some reason it shows like this for me, very confusing. Althoug Ai is very helpful to understand how to make things:
  17. How accurate are chariots and halberds? My understanding is chariots show up a lot in early medieval epics, but there are not any finds from ancient times.
  18. Andrew Martz, a former senior software engineer at World's Edge, confirmed in a separate LinkedIn post that the studio's next project was cancelled as part of its reorganisation under Activision. People made a meme about the future:
  19. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iverni https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iverni or Iverni? The earliest evidence of the Ogham is dated around the 4th century AD, it is the Silchester Ogham stone, it features an epitaph written in Primitive Irish dedicated to Tebicato maqi Memor ("Tebicatos, son of Memor"). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_Irish_law https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brehon Okay for me if we mentionned it is a legacy of an oral institution
  20. Artillerymen's shooting star Recording 2026-09-29 172206.mp4
  21. Not necessarily the devs from what i've heard, just the team that was working on the marketing and esports stuff, that being World's edge. Forgotten Empire's is the dev studio, and that hasn't been given over to activision, unless they're a packaged deal?
  22. Only in the name. The structure itself is a plausible interpretation of what an important sanctuary could have been in the British Isles. Not based on a particular site but a synthesis of several sites.
  23. very nice game - and persians are very perfect and better of total war i love u guys slope
  24. For Hibernians there is not that much material; althoug there are few things that could be used to set them apart. Ceremonial headdress (for heroes and maybe even champions https://arthistoryleavingcert.com/pre-christian-ireland-2/iron-age-la-tene-in-ireland/ http://www.visual-arts-cork.com/irish-crafts/petrie-crown.htm Cork horns (probably attached to a headdress) EB2 Irish units (avoid EB1 units some were very innaccurate) https://europabarbarorum.fandom.com/wiki/Bodina_(Goidelic_Skirmishers) https://europabarbarorum.fandom.com/wiki/Kladibiakoi_(Goidelic_Swordsmen) https://europabarbarorum.fandom.com/wiki/Eqoreda_(Goidelic_Cavalry)
  25. The Britons currently have an Irish wonder. If Hibernians becomes their own civ perhaps Britons could get a new wonder in the future (based on this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maiden_Castle,_Dorset).
  26. Well these are the most interesting. The first are, from left to right, Athena, Hera, Aphrodite, Paris (with a Phrygian hat) and Hermes (with the Caduceus, or staff of Hermes, which many pharmacists use instead of the Rod of Asclepius as their symbol, tragicomically indicating commerce instead of medicine). The orb in that case is just the golden apple he gives to Aphrodite to declare her the fairest goddess (she promised him the most beautiful mortal, and we all know how that ended). The second is Mithras grabbing Helios crown. Both are solar deities, Mithras coming from the East, and I don't know much about this situation in particular, but it does seem like he's taking rulership over the Sun. Apparently this image comes from a Mithraeum, underground temples dedicated to him (I remember seeing at least one, in Ostia Antica). In principle everything was chill between these deities after that, somehow.
