  2. With some help @Thalatta we might end up making a map that looks like this. Thanks again!
  3. So, I am trying to make an aura that increases range. How would I do that? { "value": "Attack/Ranged/Range", "multiply": 2 },
  4. But is there a way to do that with turreting?

  6. Simple workaround: I select the units with the selection tool, switch them to Player 1, do all the constructions, unit placements and formations I need, then save. I reset, reopen the XML file, reassign the relevant units to Player 2, and save again. @Stan @Grautvornix @Asher
  7. IIRC garrisoning has such logic
  8. Well, from what we have already seen, everyone had their own way to do things. They themselves show that reconstruction for the theatre in Athens, stating it came from "attempting a rational reconstruction effort", and that "static and dynamic analysis and simulation of the mechanism kinematics were performed". Then, your link mentions foundations "of similar dimensions and general shape but without a sloping floor are known from theaters at Megalopolis, Eretria, Sparta, and Elis", implying their absence in famous city-states like Athens (whose foundations are known, and different). For Sparta, it would refer to the theatre from Late Hellenistic or Roman times previously discussed. They conclude that "the existence of similar foundations in the theaters of Megalopolis and Eretria, indicating their use for specific purposes connected with the needs of the drama makes the twin-facing stone base in the theater of Phlius unique", and "this approach will be useful for the reconstruction of mechanisms that may apply in the theaters of Megalopolis and Eretria, where similar stone foundations exist". For Athens, I found this: https://www.academia.edu/89373449/_Deus_Ex_Machina_reconstruction_in_the_Athens_theater_of_Dionysus, can you see it? Check the design specifications in 5.2 (taken "from the archeological and historical evidence discussed above"), and the reconstructions shown in the following pages (here some): In any case, your model could maybe be used for the Macedonians, if the Hellenistic theatre of Ohrid (and not the one of Aigai) is used, because I couldn't find anything regarding its mechanism (although the lack of similar foundations could be considered evidence against this).
  9. There is also one on one of the scaffolds, it has a nice texture that I'm using. And for the wooden skene I took the texture of the roman siege wall Are you sure it is unique, it seems to fit to the timeframe, why wouldn't it be build the same way in Athens? I can try to come a bit closer to the picture, but I think a lot of the visual reconstructions are approximations too. Okay, I will get rid of it for the early version and use a compound pully for a later one then. I might add these guys to a later version too: Sophocles: https://open.smk.dk/en/artwork/image/KAS633?q=Portrait of the Greek tragedian Sophocles&page=0&filters=has_3d_file%3Atrue Two other dudes that could resemble the guys which actually had a statue in the theater of Dionysos: https://open.smk.dk/en/artwork/image/KAS240?q=menippus&page=0&filters=has_3d_file%3Atrue https://open.smk.dk/en/artwork/image/KAS629?q=demosthenes&page=0&filters=has_3d_file%3Atrue
  10. So, I got the turreting working, but they are surviving when the boat is destroyed, and they can walk underwater. Is there a way for them to, um, not survive the boat sinking?
  11. This is true for many city-states worth considering, like the Corinthians or Rhodians, but it seems many get bored with too many Hellenic city-states. I guess eventually things have to be rearranged like in Total War, grouping those who have a similar culture, and making it clear what do they have in common. A few things I had already written down for the Syracusans: Epotis: tech for ramming bonus. The "the Corinthian triremes" "had specially strengthened cat-heads for the purpose of ramming prow to prow", and "the Syracusans had adopted the Corinthian practice of strengthening their ships at the prow", from Ancient Greek Warship 500-322 BC, by N. Fields. Mamertine Mercenaries: mercenary ship unit that can train land warriors. They were employed by the Syracusans from Italy. Could have loot bonus, since they were raiders of land and sea, the Syracusans had a lot of trouble with them. Chain ships: set up temporary "chain walls" between ships, which would stay fixed, if somehow possible. They "moored at anchor both small vessels and triremes as well as merchant-ships, with iron chains between them, and to the vessels they built bridges of boards", from Diodorus Siculus. There's another thing for when I post about ships (@Asher, since you asked for tips, that'll come at some point), which is that "notably the Corinthians and Syracusans, preferring to ram prow to prow and decide the issue by boarding, beefed up the forward structure —ram, bows, outrigger cheeks— and reinforced the deck to carry a sizable contingent of fighting men", from Sea and Seamanship in the Ancient World, by L. Casson. Thus they should be able to transport more people by ship than other Greeks (but not than Romans, for example). I'd certainly not include the "Mirror Tower or Heat Ray Tower", its feasibility is doubted, and its earliest mention comes from Lucian of Samosata, four centuries later.
  12. Archeologically, the term Rhine-Weser Germanic is used after the Roman conquest and the creation of the Roman empire. What you have in mind are the Ubii, the Usipetes and the Tencteri but their identification is uncertain. Materially they are Celtic. The Ubii had the oppidum of Dünsberg.
  13. Sadly not all shortcuts work in atlas but iirc there is either the game console you can use to toggle the dev overlay or something jn the menu that allows you to run js
  14. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altar_of_Hieron https://www.siracusaculture.com/en/2021/04/21/the-altar-of-hieron/ Possible wonder?
  15. And here I was just 3 days ago thinking this was not how the game was supposed to be I can confirm, right now I was having some fun with my flying ranged infantry. You bring them down by, while on ranged mode, posting them again on the walls, and then unposting them.
  16. @nifa, just in case, the link you are using states that that crane would be from the Theater of Phlius, while for the Theater of Athens it gives this reconstruction (similar as previous things shown): All this comes from evidence at Phlius (which seems quite unique), and from descriptions from Athens. Another detail, in the link simple pulleys are used, while your model uses a triple pulley, which risks being anachronistic if you use it for the early theatre way before the Hellenistic age (at least considering its apparent "earliest secure mention").
  17. Hello, it's been a while since I logged in here... I thought it appropriate to make the following bug being known, which I recently discovered playing vs CPU. I don't know if it's been reported before, so if it has, I apologize... Well, the thing is, while playing a 3v3 game on the "Fortress" scenario, I had the idea to garrison the walls of my base with several units of immortals, in their 'archer' mode. I defended myself against enemy invasions in that way for some time, until I decided to attack one of the enemy bases... The thing is, I make all the immortals in my base switch to melee mode, while they were still up on the walls, and in the most unexpected way -once ungarrisoned- they remain "floating" in the air, as if they were still perched on an invisible wall... I tried switching them back to their long-range mode, but they were still hovering in the air like dragonflies... Obviously this shouldn't happen, so I imagine the developers should fix the issue accordingly for the next release... That's all for now, and thank you for your attention. In case you need more information, please let me know... See you!
  18. I started making a mod that is supposed to make boats better. So far, I've increased health for all arrow and siege ships, increased resistance for arrow, siege, and ram ships. And some more stuff. https://github.com/Jeff-web-sketch/BetterBoats. I am thinking turret-able units would be cool on boats, but is that possible? If you have any input on how boats could be made better, I would be glad to have your input.

  20. How viable would the Rhine Germans be in this early timeline? I know they had some participation in the Gallic Wars. For a bit later you also have Batavian Revolt (almost contemporary to some Briton heroes).
  21. I wonder if after some more testing we could add this to 0 A.D. itself. Or would you all think there'd be too crazy of consequences.
  22. Not sure, but maybe you have to define another player as non-AI? Just an idea.
  23. Hi @Asura, do you consider adding your mod to : https://mod.io/g/0ad/m. It would allow players to install the mod easily and give us, as host, an easier way to setup 5v5 games when they are a lot of players in the lobby. I can do it myself but its your mod so i am not really allowed.
  24. Is that a an option? I didn't know about that
  25. Hi everyone, I'm using Atlas and I understand how it works, but I'm having one issue: in the simulator, I can't seem to switch to another player. I tried using ALT+D, but nothing happens. The simulator only lets me control player 1. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there another key or setting I'm missing? Thanks for your help!
  26. @Genava55We are working on the period from 500 BCE to 300 CE for all the civilizations in this mod.
  27. If you want to stay focused on the period between 500 BC and 1 AD, I suggest to choose the following: - Cimbri (Jutland) - Suevi (Elbe-Germanics) - Lugii (East-Germanics) - Bastarnae (East-Germanics?) The Cimbri could be based on material from Jutland and the events of the Cimbric war. The Suevi could be based on material from Jastorf and Grossromstedt cultures and the events related to Ariovistus: Iron-Age-in-northern-Germany.pdf The Lugii could be based on material of the Przeworsk and Oksywie cultures. The Bastarnae could be based on material of the Poienesti culture and their invasion of the Balkans between 200 and 100 BC:
  28. For mods you can just use R28 unless you want to make a mod for the dev version. For the PRs you have to be on latest, but the patches are built on the CI (Gitea) too
