Alpha 22 name suggestions

Vulcan - The Roman god of fire and smithing. For our mesh smiths, and (since fire destroys) giving levels of destruction.

Vista - I'm expecting a lot of eye-candy "to view" on this next Alpha... Even the menu has new backgrounds. I just hope that Microsoft didn't patent the name.

Personally, it's very difficult to find non-Roman related things since not even Greek has a real "v" in its alphabet.

Vincentius, which was from Latin vincere "to conquer"

Vergilius?  - why not name a22 after one of Rome's greatest poets

or maybe something greekish for a change: Vaskilii, after an ancient Minoan settlement

Well, that certainly changes things for the Latin roots of several Star Destroyer class names that I sure wasn't aware of, especially for the Venator-class Star Destroyer and the Victor Initiative Project that created the Victory-class Star Destroyer line.

I stand of my suggestion of Virtus  and I'll add the following suggestions: (sorry all Latin)

-Venustas : loveliness, charm, attractiveness, beauty

-Verus : true, real, proper, right

-Vexillum : flag, banner, standard / troop, company, small unit.

-Vigor : vigor, liveliness.

-Vivificus : live-giving, life-restoring

Here's what I found

Vacuna, Goddess of agriculture
Vediovus, a god of the underworld.
Venilia or Venelia, sea goddess
Venti, the winds  (equivalent to the Greek Anemoi: North wind Aquilo or Septentrio (Greek Boreas); South wind Auster (Greek Notus); East wind Vulturnus (Eurus); West wind Favonius (Zephyrus); Northwest wind Caurus)
Venus, goddess of love, beauty, sexuality, and gardens
Veritas, goddess of the Roman virtue of veritas or truth.
Verminus, god of cattle worms.
Vertumnus, god of the seasons, gardens and fruit trees.
Vesta, goddess of the hearth, the Roman state, and the sacred fire
Vica Pota, goddess of victory and competitions.
Victoria, goddess of victory
Viduus, God who separated the soul and the body after death
Virbius, a forest god
Virtus, god or goddess of military strength
Volturnus, god of water
Volumna, Goddess who protects the nursery
Voluptas, goddess of pleasure.
Vulcan, god of the forge, fire, and blacksmiths
Vulturnus, God of the East Wind

Btw some have probably already been proposed

Oh, no Vacuna please...it means vaccine in spanish and also means "related to cows"

Not that I think that Vacuna is necessarily a perfect choice anyway, but I really don't see why vaccine and "related to cows" would be arguments against using a name =) :) What's wrong with cows? :P

I just wanted to say that I support Lion.Kanzen's first proposal.

Sure it's not original, but " 0 A.D. Alpha 22 Vae Victis " sounds pretty badass. Plus it has two "V"s.

Like someone proposed already: Vesuvius is a sleeping vulcano in Napoli, Italy. Its eruption in the 24th August 79 d.C. destroyed Pompeii and Ercolano.

Vino Veritas  saying the truth while drunk.

Vadio  duel

Valitudo good heath

Vireo full of vigor

I know it won't be used for sure, but i have to: both Vagina and Vulva mean the same thing since they are latin words ;)
