That texture set was a tinted one i did with the roman texture pack for make the lorsch abbey since i didn't know how to make textures i just grab the closer one and painted. That can be changed for this stone type properly

Yes, easy man iI know. let me see if @wackyserious can solve this. building isn't so easily.

Dunno about the most recent alterations to the texture, the current color pallet feels weird / unnatural / gloomy / dark (just a few words that come to my mind) (btw, I wasn't a big fan of the initial state either)

Well, I do like the current texture, more than the previous one. I've seen houses and buildings like those in eastern and northern France, Germany, Denmark, Czech Republic, and Romania (Transylavania mainly), I would'nt know if they really fit in the dark ages period, because I'm not a specialist of this period, but they certainly feel germanic to me, and not too high or fortified like it would be in late middle ages...Personnally I think it's going in the good direction, though changes can be made here and there, but I've got the feeling of this :)

Why did you created a new stone texture? The old one for the school and the wonder is good already. That new stone looks nice as a replacement for the grey one though. I tweaked it a bit and also reduced the saturation of the warm toned wattle and daub wall texture.

Your spec map is way too bright and the normals are weirdly desaturated everywhere but on the stone texture, that might be messing with your parallax

The normals i baked them from blender first and tested, wasn't doing anything then did a few test on gimp normalmap filter and had no luck until i did that one (only the stone zone is the one i changed the other was at it is) and they didn't had any specular map texture, look at this:
