They have really bad normal maps. Probably created the only way I know how, with the nvidia photoshop plugin or something similar. The best normals would be baked in Blender or 3DSM. One question, was the texture intentional not to turn red so as not to confuse the player during the game? Need ones in that vein that for Savanna, Temperate, Tropic, and Desert. Would be awesome. Maybe eventually someone can use these and code a cliff feature for Atlas.
