nwtour
Akira Kurosawa
Can you please explain me what is "Zooiarchos" means and write the original word in Greek? I'm guessing it's Lord of the Elephants, but I can't find more examples of its use anywhere on the internet. "Ilarchès" is needed too Edited August 24, 2022 by Mordred
Gurken Khan
"Zooiarchos": dissecting it, I would translate it as "ruler of animals". "Ilarchès": I found it as "Executive"; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_titles Disclaimer: I don't speak any Greek and wouldn't have the slightest idea how to form proper words from stems.

Okay... I'll think of something, how to glue it together for transliteration according to Erasmus.

Outis
I hope this is the correct place to share this. I see that in the game, Greek phrases are formed with modifiers at the end like in French or Latin, for example Toxótēs Krētikós for "Cretan Archer". As far as I know, Greek (and Ancient Greek) is written with modifiers before the nouns like in English. See the passage from Arrian's Anabasis book 2 chapter 4 section 3: τοῦ δὲ εὐωνύμου προετάχθησαν τῶν μὲν πεζῶν οἵ τε Κρῆτες τοξόται καὶ οἱ Θρᾷκες, ὧν ἡγεῖτο Σιτάλκης, πρὸ τούτων δὲ ἡ ἵππος ἡ κατὰ τὸ εὐώνυμον. Outis
I think it is a shame that the Spartan tririeme is named after their bitter rival. I propose to rename it from Trieres Athenaia to Corinthian Trireme as a nod to Sparta not having a strong navy and depending on their Corinthian allies for their navy during the Peloponnesian War.
