You’re right. Maybe an in game “recent changes” viewer would be best.

My last few points are just to say: it should be readily apparent what changes were made by the mod. I don’t know if that is easiest is in a forum stickied post or in an in-game option.

The mod is a great idea, but right now it takes a bit of digging to figure out what the mod actually does, which undercuts any goals beyond serving as a hot-fix for Han farming upgrades (which itself is really important)

    Changes Made

    • 0.26.1
      • Fixed Han field upgrades 1 and 3 not working
    • 0.26.2
      • Fix the victory conditions infinite loop bug with A27 files

One easy step could be update lobby subject in order to show this changes?

  2. Ty for the answer, @BreakfastBurrito_007. I understand what u mean.

I still think maybe some update schedule would be nice to have. Once a week, once a month. Idk. Right now lobby is a mess, there are three types of games mainstream, 0.26.1 and 0.26.2. In order to encourage people to follow this "mod update methodoly" I think it's important to have good communication strategy and also some kind of order.

I don't think we should be afraid to add gameplay elements that we are not 100% sure are improvements, because getting player feedback is essential to improving the game, and the mod can be changed and updated semi-continuously.

Totally agree with this. But we need to show some consistant strategy.

    Question apart.

I want to know if I interpreted well the changes has been done in 0.26.2 in order to avoid misscomunications in the standard message i'm giving in lobby:

    * Fix the victory conditions infinite loop bug with A27 files
    * Speed up rams by improving the turn rate and acceleration of siege units

Could u give me an answer?

    TY

    @wraitii

I notice is there a 0.26.2 version of the community-mod.
I wonder if isn't counterproductive to release community-mod's updates that quiclky. Many people doesn't get used to this and now we have one new version.
Today I saw a player unable to play bc he updated to 0.26.2.
Maybe a message in gitlab repo can advice players to ONLY get updates incorporated to in-game mod selection in order to avoid these problems?

I noticed 0.26.2 is already available at in-game mod selection.

I'm confused about what to do anyway

  4. @Adeimantos

You need to select the workers first, then hold your Call to Arm´s hotkey (you will see your cursor transforming to a sword) and then right click on the specific location u want your soldiers go to. This will make your soldiers drop his resources first in the nearest Storehouse/cc and then go to that location.

Regarding idle worker´s hotkey. U can do alt+. in order to select ALL your idle workers at once.

  5. Maybe the word "mod" makes some people thinks this is just one guy ambition trying to make players get his mod and doesn't realize this is a way to introduce features and bug fixes more faster and easier.

Updating lobby's welcome message could be a good way to people don't suspect.

Also, some Aslan's friend could explain him this so he can help with the mass implementation since he is a good and regular host.

I was chatting all day and can confirm many people doesn't know this (doesn't even have a forum account) and doesn't even know about Han's bug.

I would suggest the welcome message being written in italian and spanish too.

  6. An alternative text including this last suggestions from @Lion.Kanzen
    "There's a
major fix update for Han civilization included in the Official Community Mod, among other minor changes.
You can install it through in-game mod downloader: Go to settings -> Mod Selection -> Download Mods -> And double click on community-mod version 0.26.1. Save, restart and you are done!
You can also find it at 0.A.D's main page and on the forum.
Remember this patch is the changes for next Alpha and it was made by the community and developers for you.

    Don't miss it!
You won't be able to play games with this mod enabled. If u find games are greyed out probably you need to install it."

It should be also in the download section of main site. Many players doesn't visit the forum.

on windows, a mod is as easy to install as a patch, using the pyromod file. maybe the pyromod version of the community mod could be linked in the main site and dubbed "balance patch" or something like that.

    good idea!

This release is getting sluggish if compare with previous 0.25. Units respons a bit later, fight get even more computation lags.

Would be cool if you focus for 0.27 only on performance tunning and nothing else..

Despite I don't notice this change u mention I totally agree. The engine needs huge performance improvements. Most of us are aware this would need deep hard work in the code but its one of the most necessary steps the project needs to become more popular.

Pretty huge oversight that we missed during testing: Han farm upgrades only work for p2.

I think this needs a necessary patch. Most of the ppl wouldn't play the community mod even it's a good idea. Is that hard to make a patch that fixes this without the need of compile a whole new release?

Thanks anyway to all the people working on the project we know u do the best u can do considering the circumstances

  11. @BeTe
I would like to recommend you these two mods also. I give u the links.
At least to me, these two mods are must-have for get the best game experience.

Autociv: it adds many useful hotkeys like buildings ones. It saves you a lot of time. It has hosting tools. Auto civ change for players, kick and bans. U can /team 1v1 /team 4v4 and it sets u up the config.

    https://github.com/nanihadesuka/autociv

BoonGUI: it shows u stats info in a more detailed way than vanila. How many women, inf and cav u have. Res per minute. also u can see allies stats when u got cartography and have a better overview of the hole team. This is specially useful for res sharing. Also, when spectating, u can see detailed info of tech research, units production, and so on.

Yeah, it's more than worth microing... Although I am not sure what to do with womens from crop fields in case of attack... :D

U hit the bell to garrison all women then  rally point your CC to the opposite direction of the enemy units and ungarrison while u send military to garrison at CC. So the enemy should move around your cc to catch the women and in the meantime while your CC fires them.
Barracks do not fire but Towers, Fort, Military Camps....

Furthermore, u can use this garrison-rally point-ungarrison to save valuable time while moving units. This is specially useful while you are under attack. U can order big groups to garrison some building, and spam U-key so they will pass through the building without surrounding it

I just tested with Spartans - no matter what I garrison in CC, I always see "3 arrows / 2 seconds".

Maybe a mod is making conflict? just guessing

But what is exact bonus? Is it worth to micro and garrison women in houses and infantry in CC? Impossible that nobody knows?! :)

I don't know the exact bonus. But yes, It's worth to garrison military unit instead of women in CC to get extra arrows.

  14. From my point of view:
Smurf problem is bc small community and small community is bc lag and bad game's performance.

Everyone wants to play with known players and many "pros" seems to be afraid to play with "unknown" bc they don't know what his enemy would do.

So the new ones can't play with those 40/50 good players and many times u have to wait 10/20 minutes or more to play. And many times, someone who was waiting so long to play its removed bc some balancing thing.

In fact, "Smurf problem" it's just a matter for old players and big problem for a few "Zealots of the Balance".

U always can ask to that "smurf" what lvl is and most of the time he'll answer.

Ofc we all wants to play balanced games. But i think we are taking this to the extreme.

We should think in ways to improve the game's performance, ways to make money, fund rising, buying coffes, idk but there's a group of ppl that works so hard to give us this RTS experience (The Best in the genre) and we should think better ways to help instead of asking those few devs to make some kind of anti smurf algorithm, wtf are we talking about?

  15. I don't want to offend anybody but every months there's a new thread about balancing and all thing should be done to improve the game.
I find this version quite balanced regardless ppl complaining of Merc Cav OP, carth OP, anything OP, and so on. I agree with @Yekaterina this is good base to go through with small changes.
RIGHT NOW the game needs gameplay fixes, fix and improve pathfinder, and many optimizations tweaks, balancing should not be a priority. (at least not the top one)
I always find this threads interesting, there's 2 or 3 with very interesting proposals but imo the best the majority of us can do is foundrising to pay some C++ dev

  16. Thanks, @Langbart. I played a game 2 hours ago and I think I got the same error.

I had to turn overlay info off bc I was getting constant error message so I always had like 10 error notification's lines on the top left side of the screen. It was not just one error but constant messages.

Luckily i didn't start the game again so interestinglogs is right there. I'll attach it to you. Also I sending to u mainlog and the replay of the game.

I have feldmap 0.1.0, autociv 25.2.6 and boonGUI 2.0.1 mods installed

Would u prefer I write down an issue on the github repo? I can do that ofc

    interestinglog.html mainlog.html 2021-11-22_0001_boonGUI bug.zip

  17. @Langbart thanks to u and all the ppl working on this project i find it really amazing.

How can we report bugs? I get an error related to boonGUI, infinite error message on top left screen. I would like to get the files u may need to identify this and whatever bug appears when using it

  18. It's like @m7600 said. Ugi's is like a popular brand here in buenos aires. Many customers "joke complain" in social networks waiting their bizzarre answers. It has manu places in the city and It's a popular place between middle-low and low classes workers bc of their cheap prices. Most of this places have a cleaning service once a day or sometimes the same ppl that cook the pizza must clean the place for a very small salary so I can understand his lack of motivation to "wear the t-shirt of the company" (like we often say here, as an idiom?).

So the place is always kinda dirty, the cheese is mostly oil and flour and probably u even get a napkin to clean your hands
