  1. Yes, I use TurtoiseSVN but was not aware that I could use that to fetch autobuilds.
  2. Ah, that means to wait at least for 30 seconds? that it takes 30 seconds. (please note that I have edited my first post to show the screenshots in the right order)
  3. Hello! I am unsure about the meaning of the "wheel" icon shown as costs: The same symbol is shown on the top bar: The yellow highlight is from me. Thanks for helping me to understand what the "wheel" icon (with the number of 30 shown) means and why the same appears in the other location (speed of game).
  4. Now I am not entirely sure if this means that using 'data' from e.g. 25576 and 'system' from e.g. 25572 is ok or not. In other words: If I want to test latest autobuild, how should I proceed? How can I DL the complete binaries as zip?
  5. Maybe I misunderstood something, but I do not show up as reviewer there: https://www.transifex.com/wildfire-games/teams/17418/de/ My name at Transifex is different than Ceres. Should I delete it and register as Ceres instead there? PS: When I try to register as Ceres, it tells me that this username is already taken. I fear that I have messed it up somehow.
  6. Oh yes, good catch - thanks! And I remember that using only pyrogenesis.exe was a dead end discussed there. So I shall also look there: https://github.com/0ad/0ad.git
  7. For the autobuild, I would look there, correct? https://trac.wildfiregames.com/log/ps/trunk/binaries/ Is it (usually) enough to test pyrogenesis.exe, or better use the complete package for testing?
  8. Let me know when I can do something for you in this regard. Thanks. PS: I have searched a bit further, tried out some engines, and from my humble point of view, there is currently nothing available that sounds remotely decently - all very robotic.
  9. Hm, maybe I could help with this. At least I am really interested in this topic.
  10. Ah, I understand. It was classic Latin at school.
  11. Do you use TTS or will somebody record her/his voice for new languages? BTW, are all phrases of Ancient Greek, Latin, Kushite, Hebrew, and Persian from this list already in thgame as speech? https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Audio_Voice_List
  12. I meant that it's a pity that there are so few/no Ancient Greek TTS. And thanks for reminding me that Latin is also included. @Lion.Kanzen And Hebrew, too.
  13. Yes, classic Latin. "Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres" among the famous texts (in higher classes - after starting with declinations, gerundium, gerundivum, a.c.i., etc. BTW, I found it good to see the notes that "c" was in fact spelled "k", because many people (at least in Germany) say "Cäsar" instead of "Käsar" (maybe because "Käse" is cheese and thus it would sound ridiculous? ) Forgive my question, but is there another Latin besides classic? I even had a few weeks of Ancient Greek ("Altgriechisch", as we say in German; I assume that's translated as "Classic Greek" but am no expert) during Latin hours, but I forgot everything about that.
  14. Yes, it's a pity. I searched for a while but only found some ancient Greek for the free eSpeak NG (have not looked further about how it works and sounds - and cannot say whether it is correct). https://github.com/espeak-ng/espeak-ng/blob/master/docs/languages.md I had Latin for 9 years at school but that seems to me ages ago. PS: So a24 only uses Ancient Greek, Persian, and Kushite voices? And all other civilisations use the Ancient Greek, too? PPS also a a note for myself: https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/εἰσβάλλω
  15. Did some developer record the words with a microphone, was it created via text-to-speech (maybe with some additional tweaking), or even copied from some free work? PS: I stumbled over this post (see below) which I find quite funny, as the kids (and me) tend to 'shout' at each other "post polomon" (as we understand it) to draw reach other's attention - not only when playing 0 A.D. https://lwn.net/Articles/601628/
  16. With replay you mean the file stored in the replays folder, or a video (in addition), or a screenshot? I assume it depends on how to best show/explain what's wrong. About problems of balancing: This will be too difficult for me, but if I observe other problems, I will report them. Where? Here or there? https://wildfiregames.com/forum/forum/378-bug-reports/ Or even somewhere else? Are there categories of bugs/problems that should be sorted/kept together in dinner place? (housekeeping question, so to speak) I understand I could also use the latest available autobuild for testing. Correct? Or do you prefer a fresh build from the latest git version?
  17. Have I understood it right that in a24, most civilisations speak the words with the same language? At least it appears to me like this, as we have played at home with almost all of them meanwhile, but the words we hear are just a handful, if I recollect correctly. How where the spoken words be created so far? Again, thanks for your kind help.
  18. Ah, I misunderstood it in a way that they list is outdated. Sorry about my misunderstanding. I will have a look there again. It's too early for me, it seems. There I should have looked in the first place: https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Audio_Voice_List
  19. Hello! Is it possible to cross-compile, e.g. a Windows binary on Linux? No big problem of not, as I could already compile latest git with VS on Win 10. I have no experience in online multiplayer gaming (and don't want to), but I can test local multiplayer gaming on 3 PCs with the kids (who might get disappointed if something is broken, but I can explain to them they would be a part of something useful ). After I have gone through this thread, it's not entirely clear to me, though, if there is a specific approach for testing, a defined list of stuff that should be tested, where to post identified problems. Thanks for helping me understanding this better. I will be happy to help as possible.
  20. Hello! Is there a list of words spoken by the various civilisations? Is it possible to enable that the words appear as text on the screen when spoken - as do other messages or in the console?
  21. Thanks to all of you. So when I build under Windows again, I shall try it. I have 8 GB RAM on my notebook but might try also building on a Synology VM with 16 GB (with a Debian guest OS, though). Maybe a stupid question of mine: Can I build (cross compile) under Linux a Windows executable of 0 A.D.? I have no clear preference between these OS' but just use whatever works best at the moment and for the purpose.
  22. In fact, I use shared drives for all Windows users' desktop, documents, and downloads folders, backed by 2 Synology Diskstations. I didn't want to complicate my question. This setup works very stable, because I also use Windows' offline synchronization function. However, I can only redirect these complete folder paths to the server(s), I assume. I will experiment further to find out how to use the 0 A.D. path with the maps as a softlink (that's what it's called at least in Linux - don't know it's name in Windows) on a shared drive used by all users at home.
  23. Hello! According to the Wiki, maps are located there: C:\Users\<user>\Documents\My Games\0ad\mods\user\maps\ Using 0 A.D. 24a and Atlas, our kids created some maps and wanted to play them 1:1 on 2 different PCs. My plan is to place the custom maps on a shared drive. Is that possible? How can I tell 0 A.D. to search for maps under a custom path, e.g. a shared drive? Would I have to move also the standard maps (that come with the game installation) to that new place, or is it even possible to give an additional path for custom maps only? I could of course copy the custom maps created on one PC to the other, but that would create extra work for me. Besides, the lads would like to share their creations. Thanks for your help!
