  1. imo all factions should have some kind of "outpost wall" that can be constructed in neutral territory for field fortifications.

  3. how would I check out specific directories with svn? I have no idea how the heck to operate the converter so it may be out of the question.

While I was modding my FCI mod I decided to make one of the minor factions look more like they actually looked in the gaming clan war the mod was based off of, I was trying to edit the 3d model of another unit but found I cannot as they are all in pmd files, I do not want to have to download the entire svn version of 0ad (it is massive in file size) to get the raw pmd files. How would I either convert the pmd files or get the raw dae files for the default 3d models ingame?
  5. I have been recently playing on a fun factions server on an open source Minecraft-clone named minetest, I am sure some of you have heard of this game. I am looking for players to play with me in my faction there, I am posting this in the offtopic section here as the minetest forums are kind of inactive rn I hear and this gaming clan is very roman style, fitting with the userbase here.   6. maybe have units in heavy armor take small constant damage when swimming, or some percent chance to drown every second they are swimming, and make it safer for light units to swim?
  7. Would be cool if there was a way for mods to call a "if current weather = X" flag in mods to somehow create weather dependent unit effects/scripts in mods. I probably butchered the explanation but you know what I mean hopefully.

  12. Removing micro in the multiplayer so skilled players cannot defeat unskilled players as easily? Skill gap in multiplayer being bad for the game? What!? I do not think you get the point of multiplayer games... Removing a feature because it is used by skilled players to defeat less skilled players so everyone would be the same skill level is... I have no words, I am speechless.

I may be getting a little paranoid, but if the common act of microing units that has been a staple of good age of empires players for years and years is now causing people to be called out as cheaters? Players who are getting beat by a seasoned pro will call anything cheating nowdays (except the wall exploit, that is kind of broken and unbeatable). If your opponent is dancing his units around then guess what, it means he is not paying attention to the rest of the battlefield, good microing does have a large weakness, in that it forces you to pay attention to one part of the map while you micro. If microing is called cheating then what is the point of skirmisher units? Although I am against "banning" this like was done to walls, I do have to agree that the unit ai should be improved so that the units are not total idiots. Sorry, but just do not want to have to live by 50 unwritten rules that are almost impossible to not accidentally do every time I play multiplayer.
  15. Yeah, it would be nice to have minor hero officers, would also be cool if killing heroes/officers gave you a classic "the enemy general is dead" notification, as rn hard to tell when you killed an enemy hero.

  18. original png? I just used a png to dds file converter after saving it as a dds in gimp would bring same issues. What is the correct way to do this?
  19. When I was working on my FCI mod, I tried to add a custom menu background and the game will not load properly. Here are the files: background_fci.png.cached.ddsbackground_fci.png.cached.dds fcimod_background.xml background_flag.js I seem to be having this issue with every single custom asset I make, any way to properly add in custom assets?
  20. Although I am all for new Roman units, my main concern is many people already think the Romans are OP as is, though if done with care in a balanced way this could be a cool idea.
  21. Visiblegaarrison for archers on top of ships instead of just adding extra arrows, would make for more interesting marine warfare.
  22. I know it would make the player loose, but it is better and smoother then an insta win, and if the player leginimately had bad connection they can come back before poop hits the fan. If they just left for bad cheaty reasons like listed above in the OP then they will loose. The whole point is that it would make the quitter inevitably loose if he does not relog.
