Thanks for the help. Yes, I am currently using 23, it's what's installed by default on Ubuntu 16.04 or 18.04 I believe.

Does anyone know what it takes to convert these so they're compatible with 24?

If I were you I would convert it to A25, where is campaign menu already https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Alpha25 , https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/PortA24ToA25 ,

The hardest thing would be to port it from A23 to A24 though

My GPU states it supports the 4.6 Opengl and yet it isn't shown in the log nor there's 4.6 opengl .
    Probably windows 10 thing?
As I saw only windows 10 Radeon users tend to have this weird problem.

I've honestly considered switching to windows 8.
But I'll keep that as last option.

Until then am gonna figure out what's wrong.

The problem is that I have two graphics card and only intel one is being detected by 0AD, not like other games which pick up AMD one  and the intel one doesnt support OpenGL version 1.3 or above........

Any method to make my AMD Radeon default for all games....

    hopefully this would help

remember that after each update either of windows itself  or new driver it gets reset to original.

    Hello,

I am sorry but as the message says, you need to try to update your graphic drivers or get better graphic card.

Old ways of rendering have been dropped and newer features are required to be supported by the graphic cards.

Your graphic card seams to support only opengl 1.1.0 what is too low to work.

According to the download page (do not know how actual the info is there), you need at least support for 1.3 but I would go for higher something like 3.x maybe 4.x, not sure what is current opengl version out there.

@vladislavbelov ping, whats required opengl for 0ad?

It depends i believe on some linux systems the least opengl version is 1.5 but generally on Windows and most linux systems and MacOS the least opengl version is 2.0 but ideal version of opengl  should be 3.3 and above , everything is said here under renderer improvements and  under the hood section.

thanks, but this link did not really help me. Do not know what to do.

    Regards

It means that someone needs to port the maps first to A24b then to A25 since they are working right now only with A23b so basically someone needs to check what code has changed between A23b and A24b and then change those maps accordingly so they will work. e.g.

A big change in 0 A.D. Alpha 25 is the reworking of biomes. This is something that’s slightly slipped under the radar in the run up to the launch of the new Alpha, so here is a brief look at some of the changes you can expect to see.

Biomes are integral to 0 A.D. They are the visual and physical environment that each game is played within. We all have our favourites – or bogey biomes we dread getting in a random match. They’ve remained largely the same over that last few iterations of 0 A.D. – but Alpha 25 will see them undergo something of a shake-up.

What Technically Is A ‘Biome’ In The Context Of 0 A.D?

Biomes bring textures and natural objects, such as trees and animal species, together to simulate an environment you would find in the world.

Why Are Biomes Different In Alpha 25?

0 A.D. Forum member, modder and contributor, @wowgetoffyourcellphone, has been adding new texture assets to diversify and modify existing biomes in his 0 A.D. expansion mod, Delenda Est, for some time. He has been the driving force in getting these enhancements into the core game, along with assistance from fellow contributor, @maroder. The result of this work will be seen for the first time within Alpha 25.

What Will Be The Most Noticeable Differences?

New terrains and their biomes will be more coherently put together, as opposed to the more ad-hoc nature that they were added previously.

And the new terrains with be of a consistent 2k resolution, incorporating normal and specular maps. Previously, terrains were of varying resolutions and only a few had normal or spec maps.

    Wow, These Biomes Look Awesome!

They sure do! And it’s worth highlighting that all of the new terrains come from sources licensed as Creative Commons CC0 – ‘No Rights Reserved,’ – to show how far CC0 assets have come and that you don’t have to purchase assets in order to make your game look good.

What About The New Names? Are These Whole New Environments Or Just The Old Ones Renamed?

Some (like temperate) are extensive redresses of old biomes, while others (like India and Nubia) are completely new. More new biomes should be in the works for the following alpha as well. Eventually all the old assets will be superseded by all-new ones.

I designed some maps for testing now. As we love playing long and slow games, even the giant map is relatively small in our opinion. We play less war and tactical games - more trading ... but when of course are "conflicts" and "border disagreements" solved by wars :)

Do i have the chance to design bigger maps (4+ times bigger than "giant") ?

    Hello!

By chance, I stumbled over this blog post and tought that developers of 0 A.D. might be interested in it. As it's from 2018, you might know it already, though. ;)

    https://pvs-studio.com/en/blog/posts/cpp/0581/

yep that is known most of it was already fixed by @vladislavbelov in 0.24B and 0.25   https://trac.wildfiregames.com/changeset/24905https://trac.wildfiregames.com/changeset/24903 https://trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/2023  https://trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/5288
