  1. That is meant to happen. If you want to be sure she drops off the stone first shift-click on a dropsite, then on the trees to gather wood. That way she'll drop off the stone first and after that move on to gather wood
  2. I'll leave it to the artists to do the actual critique, but let me just say as a general comment that it's really cool to see collaboration on this level Learning and helping is a big part of what this project is all about
  3. Might be worth changing it to just one drop? That way it would be clearer at smaller sizes what's going on.
  4. The trouble is that someone has to do it and it's hard to motivate someone spending the time it takes to go through 126 pages in this topic + the rest of the forums + Trac (our bug tracker which also has some tasks and planned/suggested features). That would be quite a lot of time spent on not improving the game. It's certainly something that would be useful, so if you or anyone else wants to spend some time on it that would certainly be appreciated
  5. Has something changed with your local network or Internet connection?
  6. I changed the title as it isn't really something that's related to Windows specifically, but rather as you say later to the ports. I don't think you need to port forward anything but the UDP 20595 though, but I might be wrong on that.
  7. You can use Ctrl and right-click on the producing building to set the rally point on the building itself, that way the units will garrison as soon as they are created
  8. Is there an actor for it?
  9. That's not it Stan :-) This issue is that the links on Trac to the forums aren't updated to the https:// ones :-)
  10. As far as I know only Philip can change that for now.
  11. Is it deliberate that you use X in both places? I.e. is your point that there will be no fighting so players will be forced to use other strategies?
  12. I can't remember anyone but FeXoR saying that they are against the idea, I can remember a lot of programmers (who are the ones who are implementing things) saying they think it might be too difficult to do well. We haven't given up on it, but it's certainly something we are worried about not being able to do. At least not well.
  13. Eventually it could be an idea to, if not add to the game install itself, at least have one or a few mods as semi-official mods. At this point I think it is important to make sure that we have a process where every mod is easy to find, easy to download and easy to install. We can never include all mods so it's worth making sure we have a solution that works for all mods. I also think that it is hard for us to do everything right, so personally I suggest that we encourage people to use sites like Nexusmods.com or MODDB. They already have both the server infrastructure and the "social infrastructure" to be able to make it work well. By "social infrastructure" I mean things like comments etc which makes it easy for people to find out which mods are good. Especially Nexusmods.com which have several ways to find which mods are good. Lists of popular mods, most downloaded mods, most endorsed mods (basically a "plus one" or "like"), in addition to comments. One of the biggest pros, but somewhat of a con as well, is that each game gets its own sub-site. Whichis good for finding the mods, but it makes the game less visible. Mod makers can of course use several different ways to make their mods available. It might be a good idea for us to host a mod list where mods can be found regardless of where the mods can be downloaded from. Maybe with a simple up/down vote system to make it easier to find popular mods.
  14. I am at work at the moment, so I don't have time to check it up, but has anything more been made known of that tomb they found in Macedonia last year? It might be an option if it turns out to be related to this time period and can be displayed in a nice way.
  15. Or you could just restrict which maps are shown based on the selected victory condition, and/or vise versa? It's probably better the more flexible things are though, so the more maps that can support the more victory conditions the better.

    public.zip?

Are you on Windows? And if so, how much free space do you have on the C:\ drive?
  17. Is that updated within the last ten hours or so?
  18. There are certainly ways to improve siege in 0 A.D. but the thing to remember is that it will always be a simplified version. In other words, destroying a wall can symbolise the entire process of killing the defenders, getting onto it and even demolishing it after the war if it serves no purpose. Ithank can certainly be a lot more direct than that, but my point is that anything that makes things less abstract should be motivated primarily from a game play perspective.
  19. There was an error with the autobuild system, so it could not compile the game. Now it is fixed though, so now it should work again. Please update and try again.
  20. His album is actually out now, so anyone who wants to give it a listen can do so over at: http://omrilahav.bandcamp.com/ Well worth a listen if you ask me, though don't expect it to be the same as the game music
  21. Hopefully they will It will most likely be a while before there is any new music made for the game though. Omri is busy with finishing up his personal album and moving to the U.S.
  22. We should not use Malus in places where players can see it, regardless of whether or not it can be justified from a Latin point of view. The main reason is that almost no one knows that word. If it's used in code comments etc is another thing, but again, it depends on whether or not the people reading it understand the meaning.
  23. Merged them The forum does combine posts which are made within one minute, but not any longer than that (there are some cases where one might want to make different posts in the same topic right after one another, and after a certain while it's better to have a new post anyway as edits to existing posts don't mark the thread as unread, just new posts, so there's a risk that combined posts would get missed).
  24. You can use the shift-key to queue up the gather commands, then the unit should drop off the gathered resource before moving on to the next.
