  1. You can report errors either here or on our bug tracker, for more information see: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/ReportingErrors
  2. That's weird, I really thought there was an email sent out to everyone who donated via SPI. We do get an email every time someone donates via them though, so if nothing else you can ask us whether or not it got through.
  3. Well, the most important thing is: can you or anyone else who would create a new page in the wiki keep ut updated? It's been difficult enough to keep the English version updated well enough, so adding another level of difficulty by having to translate information as it changes would not exactly make things easier. It's certainly nice to make it easier for people who aren't good at speaking English to follow the development, but at least for the more development related things it's probably better to keep them in English only - if you don't speak English well enough to understand the documentation it's at least a lot harder to create something that will be useful for the game. At least for programming related things, and Art is mostly using the forums anyway. If you want to translate things like the Vision document or the Design Document that are not changing as often that's probably more likely to be useful. And of course the pages for players like settings, manual and Atlas manual. I suggest you gather up a couple of other people who can help out if so though, more people are both more likely to catch mistakes and be able to quickly update when things change
  4. Well, the best way to help the project is to give your time if you have any skills which can be useful And after that in priority comes helping out by testing the game and tell people about it. Only in third place is donating Not sure what we can change, adding another way to donate would complicate things unnecessarily (especially since all services has got some kind of fee and the more spread out the money is, the less we get to spend for the game). Don't worry though, donating is completely optional and not necessarily the best way to help either as I said above
  5. You write an @ symbol, then a space, followed by their username. It seems a bit hard to get to work all times, but if you get a list of names popping up after you have written the @ and a space it is working. It seems as if it only occurs in some cases, after commas and after some words. Not really sure
  6. In history they were conquered by the Romans, but in game I don't think anything major has changed any time recently. Please explain in more detail what it is you want to know.
  7. Please don't post the same thing more than once. Large screenshots currently doesn't work on Windows, so it is something that needs to be fixed in the coding, not something that is wrong on your side. So for now you will just have to wait until it's fixed (unless you are a programmer who can help fix it).
  8. Ah, that's just to tell you that there needs to be something there, you should still be able to edit the post and click save. If that doesn't work, then there is an issue, but if it's just the message everything is fine.
  9. It's really hard to tell anything from that screenshot, but it looks like you might have had a post that only consists of a quote, maybe that is what's wrong? I.e. there needs to be more text than just a quote. It's better to split up the quote and reply to the different parts individually anyway -- it can be really hard to tell what is the comment and what is the reply when someone is replying within a comment. If what you were doing was something else, then please post more information since it's hard to tell, especially when the keyboard hides half the post.
  10. Not sure if 0 A.D. is what you should look into if you are in a hurry, but the fastest way is probably to ask in the development IRC channel. Though you might have to be patient there too as people aren't always active (or might be programming etc even if they are at their computer), so it might take a while from you asking the question to someone who is able to help can reply.
  11. I would say it's all of the above We don't have enough people with motivation to focus on the design, and getting too much into details when it comes to balance and the finer points of the design doesn't make sense. We would certainly like for things to be differently, but this is the situation as it is right now and it wouldn't help if we tried to shut our eyes to reality. That said, there are some in-team discussions about some of the remaining big features, but at least some of them are depending on whether or not team members are able to create working prototypes of them for it to be worth mentioning.
  12. It shouldn't be necessary to disable the firewall, just to allow 0 A.D. to get through it I think the actual application name (i.e. the name of the .exe on Windows, etc) is "pyrogenesis" though, so you should make sure that is allowed. Allowing "0ad" isn't going to help as 0 A.D. is technically a mod for the Pyrogenesis game engine and not an application of its own.
  13. And also, just because someone else might be getting away with something doesn't mean that it should/could be done The rights holders might not be aware of those projects for that matter, so taking them as examples is probably not a good idea anyway.
  14. Welcome, and thanks for your interest. There are two links which should be the first things to check out: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GettingStartedProgrammers for more information on programming for 0 A.D. and http://webchat.quakenet.org/?channels=0ad-dev where you can talk to the other programmers (and other developers as well, but mostly frequented by programmers). You are most likely to find someone there during evenings/early night European time, but many check the logs/stay logged in all time and will get back to you when they are online, so don't worry if you don't get a reply immediately.
  15. Is your internet connection stable?
  16. I have merged the two posts
  17. Actually I was mistaken, it was the Questions forum type I remembered. That might be useful for some cases, but isn't really a good alternative when you need to be able to mark something as answered which was the benefit of the old way of doing things.
  18. Changed the setting so that posts made in the same topic by the same user within one minute will be merged. Can't see any setting related to the mark as solved or similar (you can set a forum to be "Questions and answers", but that just orders the replies based on rating by other users), but I will keep looking as I think I've seen something similar on a different site that uses the same IPB version, so there might be a way.
  19. There's a basic manual here: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Atlas_Manual (once you've gotten familiar with it feel free to help update the manual ).
  20. I assume this is the building you're talking about? If so it can indeed be included in custom scenarios
  21. The shortcuts should all be listed in the in-game manual as well, but in either case, here's the online version: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/HotKeys
  22. It might avoid an issue (if there is something in a new version that doesn't work with your computer), but it's not going to fix it So please report what happens first so we can try and find the error. Please create a new topic in this forum: https://wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?/forum/378-bug-reports/ and include the log files (see http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GameDataPaths for where to find them), as well as a description of what happens. I.e. when do you get the black screen? Has the main menu loaded or is it as soon as the game starts?
  23. And also, since we have a lot of unknowns we can't really set a release date too far into the future (and in about 99% of the cases we end up having to delay the release because we find some bugs which are too serious for us to release the game without fixing them).
  24. Provided they are emoticons from IPB and not some generic ones gotten from somewhere else way back in the annals of history =) But certainly worth looking into. Or we could just resize them for less perfect, but at least working versions
