  1. Thank you very much for what you have done, and we are grateful for all the help we can get, so don't feel as if you have to do everything. Do what you can, when you can, and others will do what they can when they can, and together we will make a great game (And thank you very much for replying to PMs and not just disappear when you got busy, that's worth a lot on its own. There have been far too many who just left and couldn't be contacted, even just to determine that they were busy.)
  2. The trouble with Bitcoin is that it is hard to find good uses for it. Receiving donations is one thing, but if we can't spend them the money is useless for us. So far we have not been convinced that there are any good ways to do that with Bitcoin. Then there is also the issue with how to best get them. Setting up an account with another service that can handle Bitcon would complicate things.
  3. I doubt that as that thread is in the staff forums and I doubt the topic starter has access to that ;-)
  4. The best way to get help is probably to contact the provider of that installer, but hopefully there is someone in these forums who can help out as well. Now I don't use OpenSUSE so I don't know for sure, but I assume there is some kind of software manager? If so you could try searching for "icu" or "libicu" and see if you find the relevant package that way to install it.
  5. Please be more polite, saying someone is out of their mind isn't very nice
  6. I'd say the biggest thing about the day/night cycle is not necessarily how difficult it is or isn't to implement it, but rather if it's worth it compared to what it would add to the game. If it's just a graphical effect it's probably relatively easy to implement, but also doesn't really add that much that can't be gotten with just static day/night settings. If it's more than that it would take more work, but would it add enough value to the game that it would be worth spending that time?
  7. I assume you mean r17478 and not r12478?
  8. Technically "highland scottish", but yeah, I'd say it seems like you're correct
  9. As long as we are in Alpha, and possibly Beta as well, I don't think it's a good idea to disable recording of games, for the reason Lion mentioned. It's certainly something to look into for later though. From a personal level I'd suggest looking at it from a different angle: If people can learn your strategies from watching replays you will have to keep learning and experimenting -- which means more fun in the long run.
  10. Hmm, not sure. They are linked to at the top of every sub-forum, and at the bottom of every forum page, so people should have enough of a chance to find it.
  11. Taken in SVN, but the result is the same in release (apart from the list of languages being shorter of course, the name of the language is still translated, despite Swedish not even being included in the release, so it certainly seems to be an issue "higher up").
  12. Is that available to use for free though? (Free as in libre not gratis that is.)
  13. Not in the main game, there is a mod that is set to feature the ancient far east however: http://wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20297&hl=
  14. I.e. it is written in Swedish rather than in Scottish. Looking through it again that's the only one in the list, was a bit confused by the Norwegian as that's written the same way in both Swedish and Norwegian.
  15. Poster, CD, and notebook cover. Now everyone should have received their perks, the notebook covers should have arrived last week or this week, and given the amount of time since the other perks were sent out those should have arrived as well. Actually there is one perk which hasn't been sent out... The top contributor is to receive a signed CD. Omri, the composer, has received the CD though, so it's just a matter of time before that is sent out as well. There were a couple of extra CDs, so those were sent to Omri as well as a thank you. If you are a member at our forums, and donated $11 or more you now have a "Donator" badge: The Twitter list has been updated with the new names from this fundraiser, and all the people who opted for it in our survey last year will be included in the contributors list in-game. We will let you know as soon as we have found the best way to use the money. It will not be spent on other things like the web server etc, it will only be used to sponsor direct development of the game. Finally, let us once again say thank you very much for your donation, and also for your patience. It's nice to finally be done with the perk delivery. We do intend to keep working on the game until it is finished as well, and hope you will keep following the progress.
  16. The name of that language (and a few more) is translated for me as well (have Swedish as the language on the OS, but English is set as the language to use for 0 A.D.).
  17. The biggest reason is probably that we have a dedicated server (which means that it is just the Wildfire Games content on that server, we don't have to compete with a lot of other sites). This does cost a bit more, but it does give us a lot of freedom and capabilities. Both in that we can do things like have it host some automated tools for the development (I'll leave it to those who knows more about that to explain it in more detail), and use it to host the downloads ourselves (and don't have to rely on other sites like SourceForge). And of course that the web site and forums takes less time to load and interact with which is nice for everyone who uses it. We could probably have gotten it a little bit cheaper, but as with most things: you get what you pay for.
  18. Two more successful reports, but both on 64-bit Ubuntu, so maybe that's something to look into.
  19. Got a report on G+ (posted there asking for people who are using 14.04 and their experience with whether or not Ctrl groups work), and for him it works. He did say he's using a 64-bit version of 14.04 if that makes any difference. Hopefully more people will let us know of their experience so we can begin to narrow down the issue.
  20. Well, it does work on 15.04, so if it is indeed the Ubuntu version that affects things then it should hopefully work on 16.04 as well. It's impossible to tell without more information though. Maybe there is someone else who has got 14.04 installed who could report whether it works for them or not
  21. It should already be possible as you can already garrison either an infantry unit or a female citizen in a fishing boat And it should increase the gathering rate as well. There are probably ways to make this easier to discover though, and we should certainly include things like this in a tutorial once we make some.
  22. I don't know enough of Ubuntu to give any advice for how to install the old version, though I would recommend to try and give some more information in case it's something that can be solved before taking that step. I just tried on my Ubuntu installation on my laptop, and it worked fine (though it's using 15.04 rather than 14.04 which might make a difference, my point is just that we need more information to find the cause). Are you possibly using a different keyboard/keyboard layout? (Non-american? Dvorak?) Have you changed any settings in a config file?
  23. Honestly, the report function is not really all that useful for spam posts. We can see spam posts ourselves, so the reports is just one more thing to look through. What's really helpful is when you report a potential spammer, who hasn't yet posted any spam. Then it can be dealt with before they have a chance to cause issues We will most likely have to look into getting some more anti-spam measures as the number of them seems to be increasing.
  24. Well, only like half of it =) You can create a group, but it's not "bound together" like described above, just a way to select units using GUI buttons/hotkeys. But they are still individual units, and selecting one will just select one etc.
  25. In the future please attach the txt file, it's a lot easier to get the information that way + the post isn't as big (To attach files click on "More Reply Options", then browse to find the file and then choose "Attach This File".)
