  1. The default action is for units to capture buildings, siege weapons (and any units you have given specific orders to destroy via Ctrl-clicking) do destroy buildings though.
  2. Yeah. It's going to be really difficult to come up with a better name than that. I sometimes wonder how he (and other people who were around shaping the base of 0 A.D.'s design) would feel about the game as it is today, but (while I wasn't around to get to know him) I at the very least hope he would have been proud that there are still people working on the game at this point in time. The last word of that quote of his really has proven true, it's taken and will continue to take quite some perseverance to bring this project to a finish.
  3. There already is a wololo cheat https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Manual_Cheats It just converts the currently selected unit to belong to you thoough
  4. If the sounds are for Delenda Est, that's the best place yeah. If not I don't really see why
  5. That having old, now unused topics, would make it more difficult for someone to find the one they are actually supposed to take a look at if they want to contribute sounds. The new ones would get lost among the old ones.
  6. Isn't sound a kind of art? But seriously, I thought there already exists several topics where needed sounds are listed? I'm sure it might be better to lock those and create a new one/maybe even a new forum, but just creating a new topic without dealing with the existing ones will not help the situation.
  7. There are still ways to get the game onto Steam if that's a path that is chosen, but I don't think Steam or any other platform or service should be the only solution. It's not good to force people to use another platform, and especially hard to justify forcing people to use a non-Open Source platform to get mods for an Open Source game. To me the ideal would be if WFG could provide a place where you could search for mods, read descriptions about mods, rate them and comment on them, but where you would click on links to go to other platforms (ModDB, Nexusmods, Steam Workshop?, maybe there are others I don't know about) to get them. That way we would be able to provide a useful place to get information about mods, make it easy for mod authors/mod users to use sites/services they already are familiar with, without us having to either rely on one particular service or take the negative sides of hosting the mods ourselves (bandwidth usage, responsibility if not for the mods working as they are supposed to at least that they don't break the game/your computer). But even that does take quite some work to implement, especially since it would require user accounts and permissions etc. Perhaps could be done as a plugin to the forums, but then that requires knowledge of the IPB code, so not something that will be done overnight anyway =)
  8. For now you can set the difficulty per AI bot, just click the little gear next to the AI name and choose another difficulty setting. There are most likely many things which can be fine-tuned, and the AI behaviour could change between the difficulties. for now the default AI difficulty simply means that it will do its best without any bonuses.
  9. For more information see: We will let you know once they are enabled again.
  10. Admittedly there was a lot of other text as well, so I don't blame you for missing it, but the info was there: Attach the files (crashlog.txt and crashlog.dmp, though if I read the error message correctly the latter might not exist) to a reply in this topic, to find them go to the linked page, or if you're on Windows just click the "Open logs folder" menu item in the Start menu.
  11. I doubt that would help, if people don't read it now I don't think they will read it later. I do think we could make error reporting easier though, maybe it would be possible for the game to gather up the relevant files into a zip file and include a link that would open in the file browser of their operating system, so it would just be to take that and upload. But if nothing else we should most likely at least include a link to the game data paths page in the wiki so people would have an idea where to find them.
  12. We will re-enable registrations once we deem it possible. See for more information on what happened, and check the announcements forum to know when they are re-enabled.
  13. New registrations are currently disabled due to one person being involved in rude and illegal behaviour towards other players. He kept registering new accounts to get around us banning him, so we unfortunately had to take this step. Once we have found a way to stop it or the person has stopped misbehaving we will re-enable registrations again.
  14. You certainly can choose to install most applications on another disk Which is useful
  15. New registrations are currently disabled due to one person being involved in illegal behaviour towards other players, and registering new accounts to get around banning. Until the issue is resolved registrations will be disabled.
  16. Until the spamming has stopped or we have found a way to stop it. It might take a week if the person responsible for it stops mistreating other players, but if not it might take months or years.
  17. A couple of not-even-that-new games and it's easy to use up several hundred GB. If you do art related things it's easy as well, especially video.
  18. What is the point of this topic? It sounds like spam from a quick look, but I doubt that you would have registered and participated in the forums just to eventually post something that doesn't apply to most people visiting the forums. So I am confused
  19. There is a bug in Alpha 21, so you will have to go to the options and change a setting, click save, and then go to the language selection. This is fixed in the development version, but we didn't think it was a big enough thing to release a new version just to fix this.
  20. To view the animations you can use the Actor Viewer that is included in Atlas. It allows you to select specific units/animations and loop them and play them slowly + more but I think those are the relevant ones for audio creation.
  21. Not that I think that Vacuna is necessarily a perfect choice anyway, but I really don't see why vaccine and "related to cows" would be arguments against using a name =) What's wrong with cows?
  22. They do, and at least for those donations we do get an email telling us that the person in question has donated. And I think that the donation process there includes a thank you message (and the email contains that message at the very least), so I don't think we've had reason to consider doing anything different. If the PayPal donation doesn't we might have to do something about that.
  23. Could you please provide some more information? The easiestway to do that is probably to find the system_info.txt file in the game's log folder and attach it to a reply to this topic. If you are on Windows you can click the start menu option to go to the logs folder, otherwise please see http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GameDataPaths for more information on how to find it on your operating system. If there are any crash log files in the folder please attach them as well, but from your description it doesn't sound as if the game crashes so there will probably not be any there.
