  1. It has fishing boats, canoes! they can fish and fight
  2. I really didn't want to give them champion melee and a melee buff aoe champion priest (which doubles the attack rate of the macuahuitl warrior). Regular priests don't cost any metal so they're still useful for regular old healing. Citizen soldiers still cant kill champions 1:1 but they're much more cost effective with a battle priest. I dunno, first drafts and all that
  3. Perhaps we ought to be a bit more transparent in mod development, I tend to get in the habit of making everything all at once, lol I know a lot of Terra Magna discussion is being held in PMs atm since we haven't set up a forum organization yet, though that might just be as simple as renaming the Rise of the East forum and working there more in the public eye
  4. I suppose I should address the first point. As far as responsibility goes, if I had let this slip into an alpha I'd understand the blowback. I appreciate the concern, and sometimes ringing the bell on the issue a few times keeps it from slipping from my lousy memory, but really my only 'responsibility' is commit integrity at the time of release. I don't mean to sound short, but coming home from pressure-washing sewer manholes all day (absolutely as messy as it sounds) to this kind of rubbed me the wrong way, which is why I'm only replying to it now. Gate's fixed, Nobody's come up with an adaptable Spartan, Macedonian, or Gaulish wonder (actually Stan might have a lovely oppidium(?) in the Gaulish suggestion thread) and I am honing my modeling and texture making skills on mods. Wonderful way to learn about new civilizations too. I'm also nearly exclusively an architecture guy. I can animate, but generally takes a few tries, and results in the kinds problem that started this thread when it doesn't.
  5. aaaand i forgot the commit message again woops, well, its fixed now sorry leper
  6. I might have to tweak the design a bit to fit within a CC's recognizable shape, or not. I'll come up with something lol
  7. I'm going to jump to dropsites and military buildings, in the meantime I was wondering what I should be looking at in terms of coming up with a design for the Civic Center, as I understand it now, it will likely look like a large long manor house with a CC-sized courtyard? Or will it have a lot of Egyptian influence? I suppose I should ping @Sundiata, lol
  8. Yeah, I need to desaturate and lighten the strips I have, and find another way to introduce more into the texture pack, perhaps textiles?
  9. Latin-based languages are easy enough for English-speakers to read or translate... I'd much rather have a clear first language to translate myself than unsure English. but I can't speak for everyone on that matter. yo se un poco de espanol, pero no mucho. no comprendo siempre que dices, pero comprendo suficiente. y si no, tengo Google Translate. We would appreciate the effort for a translation if you want the team to take action though
  10. I do find some of these vanilla technology decisions odd. Many minor techs are too expensive carry a hefty malus, on the flipside 'Will to fight' is an absurd jump in stats with no tactical or strategic value other than 'buy it first' I like your changes borg, I hope you do consider more technologies!
  11. I've already run this into the ground, feel free to have a try, but I think you should take a look at this thread first
  12. yes, its helpful with having body characteristics for the textures, we're not touching the unit models
  13. Sounds like you could have used some palisades with all that unnecessary ship wood.
  14. I already got a little ahead of myself and got rid of the little gallery over the door, but otherwise did a few edits to the pack and model also put it in context with the savanna environment (should have done this in the first place lol) Glad you like it
  15. Because I like pink, and pink sits well in the desert and savanna biomes 'clearly' texture pack also hasn't been finished yet, I will add lighter plaster later
  16. here's a first pass, I plan on adding a more structured cut stone for civic buildings where interiors are more visible. For now, I'm trying to get a nice color palette thoughts?
  17. Oh we do use photo textures, we just end up changing them so much it can be hard to see. Wood is one of the tougher things to paint, so those textures are much appreciated I think I like this civilization pitch as much as I do because you're not trying to guilt us into adding it. And of course pitched it well. It's exciting!
  18. @Sundiata Just a heads up, I've started making a 1024*1024 Kushite structural texture pack. If there are any dominant surface treatments or building materials I need to know of, now would be a good time to let me know, also the color of local lumber. So far I've been focusing on dry stone treatments and white painted mud-plaster walls I paint my textures, so it's not a fancy 3D built texture like many of Enrique's, but it'll do. Also if any other artist wants to work in tandem another 1024p can be added to make it a 2048*1024 like the Ptolemies' pack. Just keep communications open so we won't have a messy union of assets.
  19. I think they just need to be tougher and not even deal crush damage, that way you can just park them in front of enemy defenses to keep archers away from the walls so rams or sappers , catapults or whatever can work in a more secure environment. Then again, I'm opposed to the lightning sieges consisting of rams and champs bowling over everything
  20. The problem with that is that walls are not capturable, I do agree performance/cost ratio of siege towers is a bit too low. Demetrius's aura should probably be fixed, that doesn't sound like it was intended to turn siege towers into lawnmowers
  21. It's a wasted building otherwise, they get siege walls, not lime towers. I don't think it would be too op
  22. Flaming arrows make even less sense, throwing a rock at a house is going to shatter tile, plaster, splinter wood and chip stone. To make something as uncommon as flaming arrows and make it a common technology would be a disservice to the games intended historical accuracy. That should only be an Iberian skirmisher tech
