  1. Cool. This with ramming and the slow turning of ships will make the naval battles much more realistic than the inland ones.
  2. I agree with you, Kimball. I frankly would rather see the game released late but with good scenarios/campaigns than a early multiplayer-only game.
  3. This part of the wikipedia's article drew my attention:
  4. I think i say for everyone when i tell you we really needed that upgrade!
  5. The game is historically based, but still the main purpose of the game isn't art neither education, but entertainment. I can already imagine people complaining about being able to command a whole army with swastika symbols on their shields. I prefer to have fellow germans playing than stick with a symbol, so i agree to not have it within the game, as silly as it is.
  6. I try to take Starcraft invisible units as an example, but we must take care to not make our spies so great an advantage as those from SC2, where you only find you are losing when you see the nuclear bombs falling, the cloaked voodoo ships attacking your workers, the zerglings burried beneath your whole marine army or the dark templars destroying wherever you don't have detectors...
  7. We have cavalry for explorer, we need someone to infiltrate the enemy base, imo. So it would be cool to have a spy see what's going on there so you can plan countermeasures (let's say if the enemy trains too many heavy cavalry, now that you got the information, you'll train spearmen to counter their cavalry). Or, who knows, to open a gate for a short amount of time for your troops to enter. There are many possible missions, we just have to see which of them are cool to add IF a spy is indeed implemented.
  8. This is a delicate topic because every people has its own way of thinking, therefore its own way to deal with these matters. About the swastika, i wasn't directly affected by the völkisch ideology, i know the impact it has on some people and i'm sorry for that, i know it may evoke some bad memories or shame or whatever uncomfortable feeling it may bring, but (again, with all due respect) i really don't think we should let that recent black chapter of our history pervert what the not-tilted symbol really means: peace. Maybe, we could add the option to simply not use the textures with the symbol on it, but to ignore its existence... I don't think it would be a cool thing to do. And about the bare breasted women, i think it is a silly thing to discuss. We are talking about showing low quality parts of a human body. It's not even implying sexuality, it's only how the women dressed (or not!) themselves. If you guys are worried if it will raise the age rating of the game, i think the violence itself will raise it to 14-16 yrs, and moderate nudity is allowed around that rating. If you're worried about the little children that will play the game ignoring the rating, i say that's their parents' problems, not ours and i don't think we'd lose adult public with that, that'd be very silly, IMHO.
  9. I have to agree with you here. Well, would the bird tell the owner how many troops were there? Maybe using birds to locate animals for hunting would be okay, but frankly I don't think it would be worth the work of the programmers and artists. I'd stick with the human spies.
  10. Don't know if you guys noticed, but there are no version characteristics yet. Off topic: I find italian easier to understand than french, at least the sounds are similar to portuguese, and those that aren't i recognize the root of the word...
  11. But religions are already there, only with not that much emphasis. The Iberians have their statues, for example, the druids were the priests of the Celts, etc.
  12. Lo creo que él quería decir "Very good" (imaginé en español "Muy bueno, me gusta su entusiasmo")
  13. Even though some people simply ignore that, like i did, when i was young and my father bought AoK.
  14. When i first played AoE2 (I think i was 8-9 yrs old) i noticed that my workers didn't get stuck on each other as they did in AoE1 when there were many working close.
  15. Long before Hittler, this symbol was used. I guess people will just have to get used to it as not being the Nazis' symbol, but rather a peace symbol, which is what it meant before the mental illness took many minds in germany
  16. Don't know if it helps, but mine is Windows 7 64-bits also and i had no problems. I've installed it in a custom directory.
  17. I voted as soon as i heard the "contest" was open. The love for this game and this community kept me here since alpha 4, i just couldn't deny it my vote.
  18. Don't think so. RoN is a game focused on multiplayer matches, while AoE and our 0 A.D. are meant to be more historically accurate.
  19. You know what i first thought when i was about to play RoN for the first time? "Hey, Microsoft got a new Age of Empires that goes from stone age to nowadays!". 0 A.D. will gradually become the reference as time goes on, don't be so jealous!
  20. I don't like capital sudden death, i like to struggle til the end!
  21. About the portuguese page, i just cloned the english page, so everything the english version has, the pt version will be the same, except for the links to other pages, some articles don't exist and i sworn to myself to change those broken links for either no link or an equivalent page, once i got courage for it.
