  1. This is indeed less ambiguous. However, you would then have to specify the citizen class and the champion class, which occupies too much space and attention. Most of the time, I just want to know how many units I am fielding in a fight and how many of them are champion class. The autociv counter shows Kingsman has 174 infantry units and 100 of them are of the champion class. I have played with this Kingsman10 before, he is not a smurf, just a casual player. My question is: how did you allow him to mass up 100 champion swordsman? It is minute 25 and both you are floating huge amounts of resources with less than a dozen kills? If you invested those resources in your own champs and earlier attacks, he would be dead now. He probably ecobotted harder and deleted more of his women to free space.

  9. Yes, you could. But if you lookup "Cav" column you expect to see how much Cavs there are for that player... Not just Cavs that aren't Champ. Well, might be more obvious to me who do use it. The counters aren't trying to be breakdown of pop space used. Some units aren't represented at all; some units could cost multiple population space etc etc...

  10. Class counters aren't mutually exclusives in ModernGUI. Which indeed makes champion cavalry or infantry represented in both columns. That's not a bug, that's also like this in the autociv panel for example, and it make sens. But it gave me the idea to try to make things clearer by adding an a little spacer between champs and the rest, as it's the only column that a unit can be represented twice.

  11. I'm not using that mod but my guess is he had infantry champs and the panel is showing them on both columns Inf and Chp. You can check the replay and select all his units to confirm

  12. Ironically enough, trenches/ditches were definitely used by the ancients in pitched battles and during sieges.

  13. It would be nice if you could move earth with workers. That way you could build earth mounds or dig trenches in your defense line. (After all, this game is supposed to be historically accurate, and that was a common tactic at the time).

  14. you combined that with the road ability mentioned before, and that can make some different type of scenarios, were controlling a trade route, building the road for it, are key to get the resource and build your wonder for example.

  15. one element that might be fun would be market routes at the exit of maps. Something that you cannot control, but a point for your merchant, or merchant ship to reach. It is only interesting if the gain in term of resource are important compare to what's available on the map. All the players could send merchant to it all the time, the trick would be to protect the trade route

  18. It's clear there's a lot of room for balance improvement, but please don't remove CS. It's one of the few most distinctive features of the game. Let's not revert everything to the existing standard. Let's not turn 0ad into yet another RTs
