  1. Please don't. This kind of automation (autosnipe) doesn't belong in 0ad. Also what's the deal with Ptols being considered a cheat? I know I haven't played in a month but this wasn't the case then. Same with roman and macedonian spearcav rush. I know that ptols are OP in the base game and that the spearcav rush is strong in the comm mod, but no one considers these things cheating. To make a bulleted list with ptols and progui both included as "hotly debated" is misleading.

  2. This is wonderful. I applaud Seleucids for coming clean. And I applaud NorseHarold for their implacable dedication to exposing the Yekaterinas in our midst. With this triumph, your years-long quest has been utterly vindicated, and a final solution to the crisis has been revealed. Now is a time for all of us, Yekas and non-Yekas alike to come together in solidarity and thanksgiving. For a lasting community reconciliation, I propose making a bot account whose function will be to periodically scan any ongoing conversation and proclaim who is a Yekaterina using our demonstrably infallible Yeka-detection algorithm. It's not fair or healthy for Norse to be solely responsible for providing this vital public service, plus Norse is only human and therefore must take periodic breaks from Yekaterina detecting duty in order to eat and sleep. A bot could provide for our Yekaterina seeking needs 24-7, thereby ensuring that no one is ever again left in the dark that they are talking to a Yekaterina. You could call it IAmYeka.   3. Could the game have 2 modes? Mode A: "Bells and Whistles" All the gameplay and map features, such as: Farmsteads Mercenary Camps Trading Posts Pirate Docks Relics Shrines Cultural Artifacts Map Creeps (bandits, pirates, farmers, barbarians, etc.) Mode B: "Classic" Only basic standard gameplay, used mostly for Rated matches. None of the above features (like it is now in the current Random Maps).

  4. I do not believe this was Norse' intention. Rather, I think he was just trying to be cautious because he can't really know whether you will start creating a lot of duplicate accounts again or not. If, as you stated, you do not intend to make any more accounts, Norse' post will be useless (as it is a "guide" to identify you), but also harmless. I think your hatred towards Norse is clouding your judgement. I don't feel incited to harass you by anything he said. Regarding the false accusations, can you say with certainty that one of the three points in Norse' first post is wrong? Which one? Norse wasnt even the one to bring up any youtube-video. You both know that you left off on a pretty bad note, making each others lifes worse. As I am too young a member of this community, I am not going to make any judgement about the things that happened in the past, as I just dont have the necessary information. But you should be able to understand that Norse will be very cautious if you "rejoin" the community, as you have undoubtedly created a lot of work for him in the past (whether it were exclusively justified actions or not). Lastly, keep in mind that Norse couldn't have known if you intended to "keep on going from where you left off" and make his life hard, or if you intended to leave the past behind and be involved in 0ad in a productive manner, before he started this thread. He most likely just wanted to inform players about a well known former member of the community that rejoined under a different name, which is not bad in and of itself.

Basically, it worked really nicely on windows vs windows, but when I tested with a player on a GCC build, it went OOS. If you can build both on windows and on linux then you can help me test and solve this. Other than this OOS, its pretty much ready to go.

  9. I am having another new revelation. I was thinking about innovation and mechanics, one must always go back to basics, before AOE there was Civilization by Sid Meier. In that game Sid Meier has a group or entity called barbarians. "Barbarians come from outposts, which have a chance of appearing randomly on any land tile that doesn't have a revealed resource and is outside a unit's field of vision. This also includes Tundra and Snow terrain". I was thinking of a new kind of enclave. A kind of rural village. Similar to those in AoM.In appearance, I'm thinking of the mechanics from other games. Aesthetically it will be a barn, a house and maybe a field. It occurs to me that it will generate gaia units to defend itself. It will be on the maps and will generate a small amount of soldiers. Once captured it can be converted into a CC if it is assimilated. Or he could be subjugated, it won't have much loyalty.It will be easy to lose. What advantages will it have? It will have its unique technologies. All based on exploitation. You will have a resource that will be used to train slaves, that is, population. If the population is depleted, there will be no slaves to train. You can train farm animals or their equivalents. It can be used as a market, and trade can be carried out with this village. Additionally, it may generate recourses as a form of taxes. Basically it will generate metal, food, wood as tribute. That will go into the stockpile. It will be like any other trickle building. Some have 2 like here .01. I don't see any benefit as it's the same units and only the last command should take effect. As I am the reference to consult in therm of cheating according to few loud people so, i can tell you this is absolutely cheat, any modified or enhancements of a feature should be banned and we should stay away of it for the sake of unplayability. This is the only way we can be sure the game doesn't get too fun or too easy to new players. Rewarding old players who learned the workarounds of playing without good features in the n°1 priority. Can you package this cheat @Seleucids for use as standalone mod? I'm sure some cheaters would be interested in cheating with such cheat.

  14. Hold up, Since I have made no attempt to disguise my identity both in the lobby and the forum, why does this topic exist? Those of you who have played with Ricci-Curvature, you have seen me proudly announcing myself. I think this is universal to all players who have interacted with me in the lobby. I have even told Dunedan my list of accounts that I made in the past just so that he can guarantee that they are banned. If you simply execute a predefined plan, then there is little thinking involved, so I was simply agreeing with @Lion.Kanzen that executing a predefined sequence of action is tactics, not strategy. You absolutely can make strategies in this game, but it's not when you are executing a build order. In fact, you need to have good tactics and build order already to be able to make successful strategies.

  16. This user, whom you refer to as "Geriatrix", is still behaving in similar ways under countless alt accounts. On average, he makes 1 smurf account every 5 days. Generally, a new alt account is born after he has an argument with somebody. I have an entire folder full of chatlogs and screenshots of his transgressions against the TOS and other players. He becomes hysterical at random times. However, clearly you cannot do anything about him, because: 1. He knows how to bypass mutes and bans. He has spam posted links to videos teaching ban bypass on multiple occasions, in the public lobby and hosted games. The 0ad moderation techniques are ineffective against him. 2. Moderators wants to silence any arguments and dissent instead of solving them, because that's less work and keeps the image of 0ad good. In the minds of moderators, he is only verbally toxic and posed no technical threat so he can be royally ignored. Fortunately, there are ways to deal with him: 1. It's very easy to identify his smurf accounts because he talks in a very particular way and plays certain cav strategies with Romans / Gauls. 2. Keep a blind eye to him, pretend you didn't know or care. He is calm 50%~80% of the time. 3. Always talk politely to him even if he insults you. If you can't deal with it anymore, ban.

You have a record of driving helpful users away: I still remember NitroVicky and Inzhu. No matter whether Vicky is actually me or not, they were helping 0ad with developing a superior AI. If you didn't ban her from the forum, all of the single-players could be enjoying a more advanced AI right now. Same for Inzhu. They claimed they can implement parallel processing to 0ad. If you had encouraged him on that instead of stalking him around in the lobby delisting games, we could have said farewell to CPU lag since long time. All 3 of the users are positively contributing to the 0ad community, and all you can do is ban them based on your subjective suspicions. Now I ask: How have you improved the AI? How far did you nudge the engine towards multiprocessing? How many bugs have you found workarounds for? who is the real threat to the community that's constantly pushing players and contributors away? You created this thread to drive me away once again and prevent me from contributing. For what? What are you trying to defend, and against what? You can survey the lobby userbase's opinion towards Ricci-Curvature and you will see. Meanwhile, Shyft has also returned.   19. That's right. When I attack, I always use ctrl + Q. This only attacks units and not buildings. To make it more efficient, I changed the attack classes to {"Ranged", "Cavalry", "Infantry"} This change prevents the attack move from attacking women or siege. However, it does not last long; as soon as the first targets die, the unit actions return to normal attack. It's does not make visible change in large scale battles on empty ground. Good question, I don't know neither. It's been too long. Evidently this is something carried forward from many years ago. As ffm correctly pointed out, I declared immediately who I am and stated my rating accurately. I made no attempt to hide. I even busted imposters who try to pretend to be me for whatever reason. Some of the accusations from Norse Harold are invalid and unbased; no evidence has ever been presented to anyone. He claims that he has sufficient proof but he fails to show anything against me. Not a single IP correlation. Not a single access log. Regarding the cheat video on YouTube, if I was the owner of that channel, why would I allow Getriatrix and other trolls to use it against me? I would have taken it down since a long time ago! Even Norse Harold threatened me to take them down. I deleted Helicity, I deleted Kate0AD, but the ownership of that 0ad expert is not in my hands! I cannot do anything!

  20. I know Yeka purposefully caused harm and (attempts) to reputation damage to some, especially to Norse_Harold. But please consider not holding grudges as he's not a fundamentally bad person...
