  1. The current pack/unpack icons are very similar to each other and it makes it difficult to recognize quickly what button does what: The issue is that the buttons contain very similar colors and shapes. Oftentimes when I notice bolts doing something I didn't intend, I try to use these buttons to ensure they are unpacked only to accidentally hit "pack". These are what I proposed for unpack and pack: I think they are much better distinguished, with both very different shapes and colors. Thoughts? On a side note, at some point, I think it would be a good idea to throw out the "cancel" button entirely, since clicking "pack" while unpacking would intuitively cancel the unpacking action.

  3. In its prime, Cahokia was a prosperous city with a population similar to London’s. But this sprawling Native American metropolis from the Mississippian culture vanished long before Europeans arrived in North America. What happened? This Indigenous city’s enigmatic rise and fall has inspired countless theories and has long captivated the imaginations of archaeologists. And now, cutting-edge scientific research offers a glimmer of hope in unraveling the mystery of Cahokia's disappearance.

  5. I don't think there currently is a way to select units by rank, but I really wish there was. When I'm advancing to a building I want to capture and there's limited opposition I want my elite units to capture and feed XP to the rest. Selecting each type of unit and then triple-click on the elites is quite tedious, especially when it's several buildings. I guess I could work with units being part of two control groups, does any mod provide that?

  6. Oh, the hotkey? Yeah, that's indeed be a good idea then, considering the switch from capture to attack as the default action in A27.

  8. Hi everyone! May name is Elena, I'm from Kazakhstan. I've got through the participation guide on the official website, and I still have some concerns about how to join the project... I am excited about 0 A.D. setting and I want to try myself in game artwork development. I have experience with blender and Maya and I have someone to explain me about git if needed. What are my next steps? Should I just go through the manuals here: https://trac.wildfiregames.com/#Forartists and grab some task myself? Or should I contact someone and have some task assigned? Looking forward for some guidance, Best regards, Elena

  15. You have to get used to making icons hahaha, the problem is that I am very overloaded with work. The atlas includes a function to preview units and take screenshots of them.

  18. Multitasking in the Gaming Era: Chess and 0 A.D. - An Exciting Challenge Have you ever tried playing two strategic games simultaneously? If not, now might be the time to give it a shot! I recently challenged myself by playing Chess (Lichess) and 0 A.D. (Wildfire Games) at the same time. With a small chess window in the middle of my screen and a time limit of 15+3 minutes per game, it was not only entertaining but also a test of my ability to divide my attention and strategic thinking. Ok, both opponents were set to the easiest difficulty level, so it was a bit like a walk in the park. I kept switching between chess moves and commands in 0 A.D., all while the clock ticked away. In the end, I managed to win both games and was ready to increase the difficulty level of my computer opponents. The experience was not only fun but also a reminder of how creative and challenging gaming can be when you create your own rules.

  20. I can get used to manually choosing whichever mode no matter what the default is. The only case where I think it matters is for capturing low value things like houses. If you are attacking someone and if for whatever reason your best way to damage them is capturing and deleting buildings, then capture is the better default as multiple buildings can be captured in parallel.

  21. The Art of Pedro Rafael Mena. 8hO - A Raid on the Mississippi (July 2022) Illustration of an incursion into the Mississippian Mississippian world based on archaeological findings and historical documentation. This interpretation is the end result of intensive data collection by archaeologist (and commissioner) Mark Sanders, who presented this piece along with his work at the American Archaeological Society conference on Mississippian warfare, paraphernalia, and weaponry. Contrary to popular belief about the indigenous history of North America, the Mississippi region of the continental U.S. was home to a network of kingdoms, city-states, and political entities that influenced and interacted with each other and the larger pre-Columbian world for centuries before the arrival of European settlers. These states actively engaged in deep political intrigues both within and outside their courts, establishing trade relations and, most importantly for this piece: engaging in warfare. piece: engaging in warfare. Amassing armies of thousands, the Mississippians waged war in ways no less complex than their Mesoamerican, Andean and Old World counterparts. Mississippi waged war in ways no less complex than their Mesoamerican, Andean, and Old World counterparts. They made use of advanced weaponry, tactics, logistical support through long supply lines defined by the flow of the Mississippi and other rivers, as well as littoral fleets and all manner of fortification to gain strategic supremacy over their peers. The illustration shows an idealized representation The illustration shows an idealized representation of Middle Mississippian armor, with a full range of possible armor constructions and weapon systems (copper and flint weapons, wooden armor, leather and copper plate). An assault on one of these fortifications is observed, where elite warriors of an expansionist polity attack the defenders of a Muskogee-speaking settlement. ————————————— Now we will have civilizations from all over the American continent, north, center and south.
