The game needs hard formations and trample for it to make any difference.3 points

Currently, it can be a little annoying to get a mesh from the game in Blender, especially when it has a lot of props. So I created this little blender addon for blender 2.8 What it does is it loads all the files used by the actor recursively (it picks random variants like the game does) and place all objects on their respective prop points using constraints. (Do not forget to disable constraints before exporting, else you might get into trouble) It also assign a diffuse, norm and spec material to the object @Syn I believe this will be way better than the explanation I gave you by e-mail, as it's a one click business @Alexandermb @LordGood @Enrique @Trinketos @The Undying Nephalim I believe you only use blender as a proxy, but it might be helpful for you as well. Here is an example with a model with a lot of props You can test it here https://github.com/StanleySweet/blender_pyrogenesis_importer/releases/download/1.3.6/io_scene_pyrogenesis.zip EDIT: Textures are assigned in the link above. EDIT2: The importer may edit files, to remove materials, effects or images that might have broken the import otherwise EDIT3: Update version.2 points

For melee Cavs if I'm generous enough. The Wedge is the Syntagma equivalent for Cavalry units. Edit: Seeing Camel Archers in a Wedge is like seeing Intantry Archers in a Syntagma - the formation doesn't match the purpose (nor does it make sense). The Wedge were used more as a "spear" that blasts through formations. And ranged Cavalry isn't designed to do that.1 point

Not only the immersive thing, but also one of the core problems IMHO of 0 a.d. Defend and collect resources it's generally better than get the workers to fight. But back to somehow to topic about elephants and farms: what about a real worker that guides the elephant, like the merchant? In this case, the elephant could be unloading grain sacks, and the worker seeding them1 point

Barracks can double as an armory. Not even really an abstraction. It would also make people place barracks at more strategic locations.1 point

@Alexandermb Maybe you could try to use the same technique than for buildings by damaging the shield depending on health ? Wouldn't that make more sense ?1 point

Quite frankly, soldiers do not go into a pitched battle with all of their armor tarnished and shield facings peeling off. A few dents and cuts here and there make sense of course, but soldiers would take great care of their panoply leading up to a battle.1 point

Yep. It's the Realism argument against the Citizen Soldier itself. Many people have pointed it out that it's too unrealisitic for people people who are carrying Wood to be able to instantly whiff out their battle-gear and vice versa. As much as I prefer Gameplay Over Realism at this point, they're correct. Even the Marian Romans (who are the prime example of Gather-Build Soldiers) need time to ready up their formation and brace for battle.1 point

7Id rather go for the shield on back and keep helmet even raised for corinthian if possible. Looks better than deleting the whole equipment. But im pretty sure @wowgetoffyourcellphone would say the problem isnt the the variants but the citizen soldier feature. but for the most close solution to keep both citizen soldier and equipment would be only delete weapon while gathering. There are some sheats so they store the sword for the swordsman. And other advanced feature would be just like Dawn of Man. There is a call to arms button when you are attacked by raiders. It makes al citizen run no the nearest house to pick up weapons and shields if they had any and go no the raiders town direction.1 point

Other people behaving badly elsewhere is not an excuse for allowing people to behave badly here. If you want to argue for a change of rules, feel free to do so in its own thread, but as long as the rules are the way they are please don't derail these threads-1 point

lince haciendo pruebas con el huevito. Me di cuenta que puedo arreglarte las texturas si me mandas un blrnd file para explorarlas y luego agregarles detalles en photoshop.1 point
