  1. You're referring to the fact that units sometimes glide at the very end of their movement? If so yes it's a bug, and it's fixed/it will be fixed in my ongoing UnitMotion rewrite which will land whenever.

Here's the same textures at 256x256 resolution (standard unit resolution): Yes, it's a bit tricky nailing exactly where the casting rays are going to end when baking with cages, I could try to make the space between the eyes wider. It's modelling, sculpting and material setup. The human mesh is from makehuman (CC0 human mesh creator) I created the basemesh with it and then sculpted over it. Here's a pic of the highpoly model with realtime PBR shading if you are curious

  3. I've been doing some tests while taking breaks from animations. Tried to make the highest quality possible taking advantage of the new meshes geometry. This is 1024*1024 texture resolution with normal and spec, so it still needs downscaling.

  5. They definitely are (idles have only one variation except women villagers). Please be aware that I wanted to finish the animations with at least just one variation of each type of animation needed so they could be commited and be playable in the game. After cavalry units are upgraded, expect more idle variations to come for every unit type.

  6. Here is my first attempt at it. @Enrique @wraitii suggested to add units inside the stalls to make them look less empty, what do you think ? Would you be willing to make an idle trader animation ?

It's much more fuzz and work if you have to maintain and release multiple mods (you know packaging, release announcements (and answering comments) and all that kind of stuff) Dunno but all these faction are far away from the Mediterranean and lesser known by most people so the first thing that comes to mind is to do something with 'Discovery' (or a synonym) but that's maybe too standard/cheesy

  10. Woah that's neat! what a coincidence . I've used it a lot (not yet for 0AD until now). Where can I learn more of this? (the process of running costumes through MH's makeclothes) I'd love to help out since I think makehuman is an incredible tool for any 3D generalist. The breastplate and greaves were sculpted with dynotopo so they have triangles and nasty topology, but if I'm doing more I'd love to help out the makehuman project with whatever I can (if stuff is up to their standards)

  11. Thinking of gameplay, I'm not too much sure about cash crops, because metal mines are supposed to be a limited resource to make fight over between players. And if you start to run out of metal mine, you can trade for the metal with vulnerable trade route that can be raided. A cash crop thing can just sit behind your walls and generate metal without danger or fighting over it. Just some thoughts.

The problem wouldn't be making the animation, but that it may confuse players being the only building with units as "default" where the rest of the buildings show units only when garrisoned so it may appear that the market has units garrisoned constantly. (Also put them in the rest of the others civ markets stalls too) Regarding the structure, I think the stall cloth may need to extend a bit underground, specially the large one. Even if they're ground-anchored the bigger the prop, the easier to have it floating on uneven terrain.

  17. I would say Discovery can be a bit of a problematic term, especially if you want to show these civilizations in a good way and not from a Mediterranean/European perspective. I would suggest something that plays on the concept of "Around the World"/Global/that there is a lot more to the world. Maybe something like "Terra Magna" (though that specifically is probably too common to be a good name).

  19. I know that Formation functions are broken, but I didn't listen. I'll just report it here: 25:20 - Group A commanded to Syntagma Formation 25:35 - Group A (Syntagma) + Group B (No Formation) commanded to Syntagma Formation 26:30 - Group AB commanded to No Formation. At this point I didn't notice the weirdness of the behavior of my units until.... 28:15 - Group AB + Group C (5 Pikemen at the Lower Part) commanded to attack Storehouse. Group AB doesn't obey unless they are being commanded exclusively. 28:55 - Some units from Group AB won't even move even when they're set to Violent Stance. 29:40 - It's from Group AB. I just gave up and commanded them to go back to Syntagma. At least it made them more responsive.

Glad you like MakeHuman Enrique I just happen to be a moderator on their forumand was wondering if you where using it.We have been trying to increase our asset base so running the various costumes though MH's Makeclothes would be much appreciatedit is limited to blender render and all quads though.   23. Post some good stuff. Especially the basic unit Celt stuff need upgraded. I know this only because Enrique ask me at one time to update the unit actors and I notice the Celtic units need much help.
