  2. That isn't really ideal reference material. I try to google for other, but it's difficult to find anything suitable (and they all seem to be different). I'm done with this one (still needs diffuse texture, but normal map looks OK) helmet.zip

  3. This is a mistake on their part. Like I said, it is all math anyway. It is just as valid to make a hard counter ( a multiplier) to do what you want units to do as to fiddle with other numbers to attempt (and fail) to do the same thing. There is no "win" in spending hundreds of man-hours in making soft-counters work when hard-counters are already there and workable. Only the end product matters The current developerrs certainly have the "direction" they want to take the the combat. It is possible that direction will change when new developers come... current developers seem pretty committed to current thinking, which is why I make my own mod). But if there is good idea I am sure they will consider. They dont communicate much on the forrum. Maybe you can try chat room.

  4. Hi Alvaroo, Welcome to the forum ! About exporer, the good point of 0AD now is that in the first minutes of a game, you need to choose between scouting or hunting with your initial cav, or spend 100food 40wood to get another cav and be able to do both. It's more strategic than having all civ with a cav for hunting and an explorer for scouting I think.

  5. Here's the improved animation and texture. I used no shading so you can judge the "real color" of the texture here (the earlier shot I think I messed up the material/lighting). Do you think it still needs more dirtyness? http://makeagif.com/i/gEGUgk

  6. As you see from the (lack of) activity in this thread, we still don't have a sound leader. So Enrique, as art leader, would probably be the best choice. However, you can also just post them for display on the forums for community review. You probably know the requirements, but most sounds should be rather short (a few seconds), and animal sounds are best when there are a number of variations (else the sound becomes boring), however, it's still important to keep them recognisable.

  10. It looks very nice, but probably a bit too much like a pet (very friendly, peaceful and shampooed less than an hour ago in the dog parlor ).

  11. Added to SVN in r16466. Possibly the preview could be improved a bit (the background isn't black and the image not large enough), and I'm not sure if the warriors should be mentioned in the map description.

  13. As has been stated already, the base game is unlikely to have additional factions added to it now, I personally think we have too many already However that doesn't mean I wouldn't love to see more geographical faction variety added through modding. Kushite-Nubians are a great choice for an African civ, the architectural style is quite distinct and there's a good amount of information available about them online. A number of years ago (before we started on the Mauryan civ) I also looked into the Bantu and Nok civilizations that existed during 0 A.D.'s time period. Unfortunately I couldn't find very much information about them, but the walls of Great Zimbabwe were of particular architectural interest Moving over to the Americas, I was also very interested in the Mayan and Olmec civilizations which would have existed in the time period. One day I hope to see them all in 0 A.D.

  14. I believe there is not much more to be done. (compared to the screenshot above I did another pass on the grass btw). I must say I really like the visual style of the map. The only thing I'm not sure about is the massive presence of gaia soldiers and buildings (since they're not really smart). Alpine_Mountains_(3).zip Alpine_Mountains_(3)_SVN.zip
