  1. Anything I type here will be my own words and you can use them. In this instance, I just reworded the original passage .
  2. The Greco-Macedonian pharaohs of the Ptolemaic dynasty granted plots of land to all veteran Greek soldiers who would settle within the borders of the empire. These veterans and their decendants would then be called upon by the pharaoh to serve in the imperial army during times of war or rebellion. The pockets of Greek culture created by these settlements would influence and give shape to the traditional native Egyptian culture, creating a unique syncretism we today call the Hellenistic culture.
  3. Indeed, for there is no longer a "gui/common/setup_resources.xml" file, but an entire folder instead. Just one example. And then, how and what to edit in the listed files? Just says to edit them, but not in what way or which lines.
  4. The Temple of Apollo at Daphne, I believe. Maybe that can narrow it down? It's a suburb of Antioch.
  5. Similar to what the Ptolemies tried to do, the Selecids also invited Greek colonists to settle in their lands in the East. The colonists would then be beholden to the Seleucid for military service in exchange for gifts of land.
  6. I'd bake some subtle shadows into the texture at least, give the illusion of a little more detail. Also remember that the stele we see today are very weathered. In their prime, their details woukd be easier to see. I wonder if there is evidence of paint.
  7. On the battlefield, the Seleucid cavalry arm was often the most successful in the army, often driving off the enemy cavalry in order to turn and make devastating flanking and rear charges into the enemy center.
  8. Yet, nearly always defeated on the battlefield in this era.
  9. Yeah, Scythed Chariots could be a melee suicide unit, basically. Brit and Maur chariots are basically missile platforms. We can figure something else out for those, like that old Briton video I posted a while back.
  10. @ChronA I agree it's difficult to create a role for chariots with the current game mechanics. So without having to add a bunch of features, I'd say turn them into some kind of melee glass cannon. Kind of like Petards in AOE2, but only against units, not buildings.
  11. Now you understand the anguish of design by vote. :*
  12. It's one of the reasons why I don't like ranged units firing so fast by default or being so accurate by default. We have no room for techs to increase firing rate or accuracy if they're already machine guns.
