We can consider giving rice fields to the Mauryas after a little more research perhaps next alpha. 4 hours ago, AIEND said: If you wish to give China a unique crop, we would prefer millet (粟Su), which was the staple food in China until the Tang Dynasty. Millet does look different from wheat. Will have to investigate how to make a Millet Field look nice in the game. 4 hours ago, AIEND said: We don't want other countries' understanding of our staple food to stay on the stereotype of modern times, after all, this is the Han Dynasty and not the 19th century. I don't think it was trying to play up a stereotype, but instead attempting to make something unique.

AIEND
In addition, it is recommended to put the sword and shield hands of the Han army in the first stage instead of the second, like the Romans, because swordsmen are almost everywhere in Han society, and the army can easily recruit swordsmen, but using 戟(JI ) soldiers with weapons of equal length require special training. For the same reason crossbowmen should also be placed in the first stage, just like javelinmen and slingers of other factions. Archers and 戟手(Jishou) can be placed in the second stage, in our opinion, training these types of soldiers is more laborious.

I agree with these changes to unit availability, because I know that training crossbowmen was easier than training archers, however, the balancing team wants archers in first stage for gameplay balance reasons. If I put swordsman in first stage, are you okay with crossbowmen in second stage?
hyperion
The argument for spear and bows to be available in earlier phases is the lower tech requirement for a civ to produce those weapons. I'd equate p1 to stone age, p2 to copper age and p3 to bronze age roughly. The high number of warhorses in p1 of a typical 0ad army is quite off

AIEND
Can you add the language Chinese(literary) to Transfex? It was the office language of China until the early 20th century, and it is also learned today in junior and senior high schools. We need this language to make the next version of Chinese mods if the next alpha is likely to join the Han Dynasty. In addition, we hope to completely correct the Hanyu pinyin naming of buildings and arms in the Han Dynasty. We have noticed that some of the names will be unfamiliar to the Chinese after they are translated into Chinese.

In the Han army, there are general crossbows and crossbows with high power. You can put one of them in the first stage and the other in the third stage as the champion of "Yulin". This needs to change stan's original design for champion units. Regarding "Yulin", swordsmen are not needed. These guards are usually archers, Jishou, crossbowmen and cavalry. The arrows are shorter and the range is longer, but the reloading speed and power are not better than that of the bow. Otherwise, the Han army does not need to keep the bow and arrow. The status of bows and arrows in the Han Dynasty was more reflected in the shooting of chariots and cavalry.

Their weapons and equipment had uniform specifications and their training had an average level. Therefore, the differences caused by other ethnic groups having their soldiers self-armed and trained by themselves are difficult to find in the Han army. It is not necessary to provide a mercenary that is worse than the Han army soldiers. I think only the Xiongnu's "Eagle Shooter(射雕者Shediaozhe)" is more suitable, this is a horse archer who shoots very accurately. 1

We need Chinese (literary), which was the common office language in China before the 20th century. Unlike modern Chinese which is classified into as many dialects as you see. In China, together with Standard Chinese, we call it the two major standards of Chinese—文言文 and 白话文.

In fact, our translation team is very angry that someone has repeatedly applied for a large number of dialects, but they do not translate at all. We believe that this is deliberately adding confusion and causing the projects that really need to be completed to fail the application. If you think it is necessary, after adding Chinese (literary) language, you can remove those messy dialect items.
