Lion.Kanzen
Can be possible if a map defines the textures by biomes, texturing by buildings, kind clothes( summer , winter, etc) for the units and winter props? Creates a Persian or Egyptian in winter map isn't realistic but only have a slightly variant may be with color tone and less saturation? A texture per map type should be possible after #3952, though mixing things will stay a bit hard. If you want units to have a random texture, but you also want the texture to depend on the climate or season, that won't be possible yet. And it would still need some definitions on what climates a map could have (in order to update the actors for it). Building textures based on the ground texture will require some more work.

It's like a tags included in maps, where the map maker can selected in atlas, or coding if is random map. with texturing with some cultures give less desert or arid look in winter maps , like Persian and Ptolemies, is very unrealistic seen those faction with that kind stone ( arid) in non arid maps. the tags can define the look, or properties of buildings to adapt a culture, for example have middle Asian or Egyptian in some maps like oasis or siria, and have other more rural in or western in winter even costal or Indian have other look, the possitibilities are many depending by imagination. but would be easy if we try to get easily, with very specific tags. this tags defines : texture meshes props unit production template ( must be predefined) soldier/ unit texture and props ( for example legionary with some winter equipment)

Sturm
Do we have both historical maps of Persepolis, before and after Alexander the Great sent the main force of his army to Persepolis by the Royal Road? Lots of ruins after him... - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persepolis
wackyserious
Haven't progressed in 3D modelling these past years, I was busy with many things I am hoping that someone would help me establish my hopes for a modular ruins set (gather-able) for the game
