  1. At least first level should definitely not be in Slavonic language. Bulgarians are considered of Slavs now, but it is due their merger with Slavs. In origin they were relatives of Huns.
  2. Yes. If not against history. I think, that While Italian factions cold be done the way they were, Hungarians aren't the case.
  3. Problem with Huns is, that their empire disintegrated soon after Atillas death. And that was even before fall of West and thus out of scope of mod. If you don't like Avars, what about Gepids, Heruli or Rugians? Or confederation of these? I think, that it would be still better to prefer accuracy before uniqueness. Avars simply lived in large area. I think, that Hungarians and Vlachs could simply have same units in first period but still be separated nations.

  11. I think, that first period should be Avar instead. http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/2425/avar1nk2.jpg Those Osprey books are your scans?
  12. I've found these articles. http://encycl.opentopia.com/B/BY/BYZ
  13. Greek archers are just Psiloi. I thought about such machines, but I don't know extent of use and if it wouldn't be too powerful.
  14. That is just detail. It wasn't my work, so I can't do anything with it. I'm seeking someone who can speak Greek, so he can correct any error or finish translation.
  15. I know. I mean, it would be sufficient if Burgundy were of Frankish origin. You ordered your Osprey book? Which it is? I have "Osprey - Men at Arms 144 - Armies of Medieval Burgundy 1364-1477"
  16. Emperror Maurice reformed Byzantine army. He is considered to be writer of Strategikon. He, for example, used unequal numbers of troops in each group, so enemy couldn't easily calculate size of army by calculating banners. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maurice_%28emperor%29 http://navsci.berkeley.edu/ma20/PPT/14%20F...20Byzantine.ppt http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategikon
  17. Hm, I think, that Burgundy along with Grance, Germany .... should be subfaction of Frankish faction. Actually, Burgundians were independent nation. Hm, then they should differ from Frankish.
  18. I don't think so. It would be one model which would be just scaled. I've read somewhere here message from WFG staff, that this would be possible.
  19. Well, I have Osprey books about Byzantine Empire. And I think, that I have quite a knowledge about Byzantine Empire. Maurices reforms were so good, that it allowed Byzantine Empire to survive without many modifications. That is why their army doesn't change so much.
  20. Good idea. I forgot Pronoiai Allagion. How it is in singular? Proniar? Well, i 4th period there could be many mercenaries.
  21. Ah, I misunderstood it. There could be better ways how to solve it. Will it be possible to have something like timed periods? It would fit to For Honour and Glory mod. Each period would last for certain time equally for all civs.
  22. Nope. Units are still almost same. I mean, I was lazy to type them again. So, units from previous periods remain in latter if not said otherwise. -> means upgrade or rename.
  23. I see no better way how to put strategic thinking into game without making it like Settlers. This style of game could be pretty annoying.
  24. They really are. But these didn't fight for Spanish. Spanish had own ordes like Calatrava, Santiago and Alcántara.
  25. 1st period In this period, will Byzantine empire have army trained in Roman fashion (Maurices reforms are yet to come) and units will have Latin names. Sagitarius - Archer link Foederatus - Barbarian Cavalry link Excubitorus - Elite heavy infantry, revival of Praetorian Guard No. 2 Cataphractus - Medium Cavalry No. 1 Clibanarius - Heavy Cavalry. Also Horse is covered by lamelar armour link Scutatus - Spearman with shield link Hunnish Mercenary (translation needed) - Elite Horse Archer link 2nd period Army changes from Roman to Byzantine. Sagitarius -> Psilos No. 4 Foederatus -> Latinikon No. 2, 3 Excubitorus -> Exkoubitos No. 2 Cataphractos -> Kataphraktos No. 1, 2, 3 Clibanarius -> Klibanophoros link Scutatus - Skutatos No. 1 No. 1, 2, 4 Hunnish Mercenary -> Skythikon Misthophoros link Arkitos - light cavalry No. 2 3rd period Army stays much the same. Heaviest unit disappears. Latinikon is improved Klibanophoros disappears Varangos - Varangian guard No. 1, 2, 3 Tourkopolos - Christianised or mercenary Turks, horse archer. No. 2 No. 3 Arkitos -> Trapezitos No. 1 4th period Army stays much the same. Mercenary arquebusier (translation is needed) No. 3 Vardariot - Medium cavalry armed with bow and sword. Only rider is covered by lamellar armour No. 1 Trapezitos -> Massagetos - Cuman Mercenary, light cavalry No. 2 Skutatos -> Byzantine infantry (perhaps "Stratiotus" is appropriate word) No. 1, 2, 3 Proniar - Heavy Cavalry No. 1 No. 2 Psilos -> Heavy Psilos - looks weird, greek aquivalent to "heavy" required No. 3 Byzantine lancers - Medium cavalry, translation needed No. 1 Balkan mercenary (translation needed) - I decided, to put those light foot mercs from balkan to this one. No. 2 Abadu, I've lost link to those scans. Cold you give it to me once more, please? I couldn't find many pictures. I may add them later. Comment army composition, post in ideas ...
