  1. Hi. I see you love AoK still. Then I have great information for you. New mod is being finished. It is really great one. Totally changes gameplay and feel of AoK. When it is done, I'll inform you. I promise.
  2. I asked him to review anything he would like to, but he didn't answer to my PM at totalwar.org forums.
  3. I asked Cegorah to review your research. I hope, he will have a look soon.
  4. Hm, Turcoman seemed to be too armoured to serve as light cavalry. But right you are. Keep it as it is. Azap is fine. It will be cheap levy with sword and composite bow.
  5. I think, that in last period Turks should get some light cavalry (unarmoured horse archer or so) and some levy infantry. I think, that Yaya is better than those levy cannon fodders Turks used in great numbers (therefore Turkish army often sustained great losses in battle, but had no problems to replace them).
  6. some links from last period don't work.
  7. Nice. From which mod for MTW2 did you use those pictures? Total Realism. I should give it a try.
  8. You marked last level as "level three". I lack some heavy cavalry in last level. I guess you didn't manage to find better pictures than those tin models. It mus be hard to find. I like it anyway.
  9. Abadu, you rock. I like it really. Thanks for such research. I won't answer too often because I'll be away due to seasonal work and so. But keep researching.
  10. I don't believe they really dislike it. I think, that they mentioned, that it is too few music for too much work.
  11. Thank you very much. These are your scans?
  12. I think, that it is fine.
  13. 1st period 500 - 800 2nd period 800 - 1071 3rd period 1071 - 1230 4th period 1230 - 1492 See FAQ.
  14. Hungarian Croatian units look much better than "What if".
  15. Problem is, that Dalmatia was AFAIK Venetian province. Croatia will be quite a problem because it was later part of Hungary and Dalmatia was Venetian. We will see how it will eventually end. EDIT: Now I see you mentioned it. Actually Croatia and Hungary were in union IMHO. So I think, that this won't be such problem. But combining Hungarian and Venetian parts perhaps won't be good idea. Fighting Dalmatian alongside Hungarian Croat will look weird. But you indeed perform great research and I appreciate it.
  16. With those pics it would be cool. Or just post link where do you get them and I'll handle it. Those Navarese should be named as "Navarese mercenary" or so. If it is historically accurate then keep them. Given proper name they will no longer be treated as Longbowmen anyway.
  17. Wasn't Navarre independent kingdom? I'd prefer native names. But composition seems OK. But I don't like Longbowman much. I mean, I consider them as something unique to Britons. But it is fine, that you manage to find nice pictures for units. I didn't put any to Byzantines because I don't have scanner to scan my Osprey books.
  18. Proniar fills role of heavy cavalry. Stratiotai was common name for all soldiers. But some medium cavalry lancer won't hurt. I'll think about it.
  19. Needless to speak about MTW2 where in single squad not all units look same. Actually, when commanding huge numbers of units, it wouldn't make sense to have each soldier separated as in classical RTS. But we must keep in mind, that unlike RTW, in 0AD you look at all units form same range and therefore see them in full detail. In total war game it is possible to use LOD (Level of Detail). When some units are farther these aren't displayed in full details but are replaced by sprites. You can see it when approaching to some formation by camera. I certain point you see that units slightly change (but visibly, it is also task to make this "switch" as invisible as possible). That is point when simple sprite is replaced by model and vice versa. But in 0AD fight of 300 units is hw intensive. There can't be done any tweaks other than Hidden Surface Removal and so. Also each unit is treated separately. In RTW these can be sinced to some extent and so, improving performance.
  20. Good. I observe those forums sometimes and these are of considerable quality. If 0AD and our mod drew more attention. Medieval 2: Total Realism could be good choice to observe as Rome Total Realism was really cool. Or Chivalry: Total War (mod for RTW) is pretty accurate. It wasn't easy, yet it was fun and depth it provided was also really good.
  21. Well, I don't know Bulgarian military much. Therefore I can't judge. But those names look good. Is it really Bulgarian? Or Polish/Russian?
  22. We will se if it will be possible. Then rename the to Mounted archers. Horse archer implies that he is fighting on horseback. During 100 years war English knights also evolved. I think, that development style like it is now is OK. EE. Mod ends in 1492. 16. century belongs to timeframe of Colonial AD mod. Perhaps we could include Gallowglass/Gallowglaigh. Celtic man with two-handed sword.
  23. Sorry. I don't. For temporary purpose I think, that it would be OK to use names like "Bungar Heavy Cavalry" or so.
  24. I don't know how much accurate that horse archer is. I think, that they dismounted before battle. So they didn't fight on horseback. I also see no difference between knight and Lancer. I think, hat all knights used lances for maximal effect of charge and when lances broke, they used swords. That is all. But I must say, that I really like first period.
