  1. As you're not going to play multiple civs at the same time that should not pose any problems. As long as there is a consistency within each civ.
  2. The elephant looks A-MAZE-ING!
  3. Perfect! (but the bamboo posts are still sticking out a little bit)
  4. I don't really know about the other people on this forum, but although I probably spend up to 10 hours a week on games (... on 0AD, that is), I rarely play games. I think I only played 0AD for about 30 minutes, and that was in order to test models and textures. (The forum seems to have erased the rest of my text on posting, but I agreed with Pureon and Sanderd17 and said some things about this still being in alpha and being open-source and not being average in any way) (It's nice of you to post this here though ;-) )
  5. The 'select only idle civilians/civilian-soldiers' is a must. It's something that all RTSs I've played up till now have lacked. There would be an alt + double-click to select all units of same rank if I understood correctly, you can select all veterans that way, can't you?
  6. Fill the gaps between the four central sails of the market, from a distance they result in these ugly dots. You could also make the gaps bigger, but I think that'll only make it uglier.
  7. If we make them inferior we could try to make the iron civs 'upgrades' of the bronze civs so that after the last bronze phase you go to iron. It would require a lot of tweaking on our part though, so I suggest keeping that for later.
  8. If any american civs are ever going to be added: The Tiahuanacu, they lived something like 2000BC - 1000AD, but for as far as I know they never participated in any war, so they may not be very interesting as a civilisation xD They would be nice as mini-civ (they were good traders)
  9. Yay! Another Belgian using QWERTY!!! More serious now. Maybe the game should detect the keyboard configuration and adapt the hotkeys to that automatically. Not sure how feasable this is though.
  10. We could have roman generals discussing battle strategies, soldiers setting up siege weapons. And we seem to be forgetting the economics part of the game: soldiers chopping trees to build siege walls/an army camp. Maybe some images of house being erected next to the army camp, the army camp becoming a permanent fortress and becoming the center of a city. An army breaking open the city gates is a must as well! (preferably the persian ishtar gate, if that one was ever meant as defence that is, it would look really impressive).
  11. My mouse is set on a very high sensitivity, moving from one side of the screen takes about the width of my thumb (and I have violinists fingers, so that's really not much). Moving my hand from the zxcvb keys to the arrow keys on the other hand is far. Anyway: What are we arguing about? (or are we even arguing?) My point is that the WASD should stay and that zxcvb sounds good for training units. (The distance between arrows & zxcvb is too big, but that between WASD & zxcvb isn't)
  12. Roman Milestone: blend, dae, text and norm : link Just so you know ...
  13. I personally always use WASD (&QE), otherwise I'd have to move my left hand.
  14. Well ... Belgium is very densely populated in general, so we don't actually have any middle of nowheres, at least not in the northern half (where I live), but since I live in a little village that has only one supermarket, a few bakeries, restaurants and pubs. In my Flemish dialect we would call such a place "''n boeren'ol" (which could be translated as 'a farmer's @#$%' but actually means 'an empty space where farmers live' or 'middle of nowhere' (but "Boerenhol" is also a placename). Where I live was mostly swamp as well. An update on the fortress: it wasn't roman ... not sure whose it was, I'll look it up.
  15. Very nice and interesting, Frankfurt seems like a very nice place to visit (writes "Frankfurt" in the Holiday planner). Where I live, the only things left are mounts of earth where once stood a fort, but then again, I live in the middle of nowhere.
  16. The hotkeys should be customizable in the option menu, so if you want them to fit your style, you'll have to change them there. For now we should try and develop a really intuitive range of hotkeys that new players can learn easily and that old rtsers can adapt to quickly (or preferably don't have to adapt to).
  17. I prefer .blend as well, but not everyone has blender ... ... ehm ... blender is free so anyone can have blender ... ... yeah, blend should be preferred. Are the phoenicians going to use the carthaginian houses? They look very similar so I don't see why we should make new ones.
  18. As always I've added both model (blend & dae) and texture to Mediafire. Which one do you prefer? Blend or DAE?
  19. Phoenician Altar based on the one in an earlier post (needs to be textured)
  20. $ ./0\ A.D.\ a12-r2-archlinux.run ./0 A.D. a12-r2-archlinux.run: error while loading shared libraries: libfuse.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
  21. H for Home I think, but R is better, if it's not used by anything else yet that is.
  22. I woudn't say it that way. It's just not a priority, but if anyone wants to make some high poly buildings/units for a change, that's a little bit of work that's finished in advance.
