  1. Shooting arrows until something gets close and then switching to melee reminds a whole lot of AOE3 musketeers, and that is not a good practice. Just saying someone might get the idea to implement units like this in a future alpha.
  2. Ah i was spot on the composite linothorax. So its safe to say that the most popular styles were the pilos "like" helmet with the fin corinthian, pseudo-calchidian, montefortino and probably the illyrian too.
  3. @Thorfinn the Shallow Minded From what i've seen from bronze statues , the calchidian helm, xiphos and a composite linothorax panoply seem to have been popular among them. Sometimes one sees a pilis like helmet too. Strangely no corithian helmets .
  4. Other than tarentum(?) and neapolis and maybe syracuse what does southern italy have? I mean syracuse could be so cool, like only having 1 CC and having other tools to expand, maybe it could have P2 hero/heroes and mercs obvs
  5. I also saw those fin like helmets but aren-t those villanova era thingies only?
  6. Trying to figure out what would Etruscan use, I mean they would probably have equipment similar to the Latins.
  7. i saw that but i wanted a second opinion, I am no expert and the internet aint reliable
  8. ok my bad the bonus applies but the two crossed swords icon does not show up
  9. @BreakfastBurrito_007 I just played a tg and although the archer cav was next to antiochus , the bonus icon didn't show on their heads. But the bonus works on melee cav.
  10. Can someone confirm if antiochus iii's bonus applies to ranged cav (seleucids), because i don't think it does.
  11. Would peak expansion etruscans use the boeotian helmet and it's variants? I got this pic from google and it seems sus.
  12. Making spear/lance cav even more micro intensive will be worse unless one makes infantry need more micro also.
  13. Still don't know who should i start with, divided between the etruscans and the syracusans, cuz im also thinking of the any new assets that could be needed for the etruscans. Also syraracuse is easier and any concept for them won't include any new assets for the most part but i hesitate to create a concept of another mercenary civ since mercs are meh and we don't know if they will become good by A25.
  14. Etruscans will be a big problem. Namely their language. They also need to be similar to both greeks and romans but distinct in their own way. It is also hard to make syracuse different than just "athens with more mercenaries" Although heroes are slightly easier : Gelon , Agathocles(?) and Pyrrhus or Dionysus
  15. I could try my hand at one of those design docs.
  16. Nah man, giving almost everyone skirms and spears is a bad move i think.
  17. True but this is an idea i had for a while , i think civs have too many troop types available and this makes differentiation beyond cosmetics difficult .
  18. I'd be down for etruria though i still think civs should be divided into spear civs and sword civs
  19. Tbh i mentioned these as a joke really, there is no way to make them different enough from those already in game to justify them.
  20. Well it is safe to say that some heroes got shafted pretty hard by the devs
