  1. AFAIK bots do not cheat (except that they can see everything and have no FoW). However on difficulties > medium it gets a gatherspeed bonus (+50% on very hard IIRC)
  2. Indeed, the Roman Army Camp has been made less powerful (since it was really overpowered before).
  3. Is the button not visible or locked?
  4. Do you have a landmap (to indicate in what region they lived)? Also, do they have any relation with the Norsemen (the founders of Russian cities like Novgorod)? A usable list for civ bonuses and uniquenesses!
  5. Do you have renders from a different perspective? This one is quite hard to judge as the foreground is way lighter than the background. I'm not sure of the wall in the back, it looks really thick to me... A more detailed reference which might come into use: Other than that I think you're off to a good start (though I'm not part of the Art team)
  6. My compliments for your thorough post! Though the main game won't add any other civs, there is a mod that probably will future Nubians (could you confirm, Lion?). Your info will be probably of use there. http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=17016&page=1 Iberian Empire, Auron2401?
  7. The public.zip doesn't need to be ex. tracted. A system_info.text always helps. Now where was that located on Gentoo?
  8. I just wondered, do the memory graphs differ when you would package the public folder (like is done in releases)?
  9. I don't think it is a good idea to get personal but rather try to formulate an answer (although I think Scythetwirler is the most valid person to do so). I think his questions are valid: Is it done with a general underlying principle or was it more a matter of 'carelessly' balancing (if you get what I mean)? Also, was the focus solely on playability or was history taken into account too? I think it would be good to preserve one standard formation (e.g. box) for movement purposes. As for the tech pairing: I think it can(!) add a new depth in the game since you can't blindly research everything (which often happens to be the case with a good Eco). Instead you need to think forward and anticipate on the other players. (What kind of units do they use most and what tech I could best research to counter that?) The only issue is what technologies you pair. You indeed can't blindly pair various technologies that have nothing in common and are not of equal value (result-wise).
  10. Graphic option Post Processing never worked for me => Save Changes and restart the game.
  11. I have 340.** installed with a GTS 450. It runs Alpha 16 fine on Ubuntu 14.04. 331.** supports the 700 series.
  12. Prime is IMO a no go to since it uses the Nouveau driver (which doesn't offer the maximum performance in comparison with the proprietary drivers)?
  13. Alembic, this happens after starting mods with the mod selection window?
  14. We actually haven't decided yet. (Since the Norse aren't finished yet and the Carolingians/Franks just started.) It could be either Byzantines, Saxons, Arabs (or something else )
  15. In the time of Charlemagne they are still called "Franks". (Charlemagne was also Emperor of the Frankish Empire)
  16. The nature of skirmish maps is that they are handmade and generic across all computers. Random maps are however generated at run time, they are different whenever you run a game with that map selected.
  17. I think I would extend the glow since the tip of the nose and mouth fall in the dark.
  18. You can use these mods in SVN. If we would package a release for Alpha 17 it would be playable in A17. Does no one know what the civilization in the latest image is?
  19. Belgian Bog is a skirmish map isn't it? That means it is generic across all installations.
  20. You can center layers using the align tool in Gimp, Stan.
