  1. It's real good for getting consistent results, and its all contained in one pack which is a plus. Downside being i have to split and mirror and do all kinds of weird stuff with the mesh to get it to look good. Light wood is nice and interesting but I cant rely on it for contrast like with the others. Also lack of decorative embellishments have me re-purposing frieze and capital patterns I suppose it could be worse. Could be the Greeks' 5 different texture files eeeugh. I'm not looking forward to the Macedonians
  2. this Seleucid texture pack makes current me want to slap past me
  3. I remember when rams couldn't attack units, elephants were soft targets for arrows, and defensive buildings all had 24 attack with no build restrictions. That was before capturing too lol. good times, Mauryans had a hard time with that
  4. can't go cutting clauses out of sentences and expect them to retain their original meaning, silly I don't like how quickly cities fall once the administrative center (which is generally hard to fortify without planning for it at the start of the game) falls. "rush the CC" is mindless and effective in that it cripples the whole city. Better to make an attacking army fight the strongest points in the city before it falls
  5. sentry tower give lightest, most spread out protection, defense towers are stronger defensive points for greater cost, easier to avoid due to the resource drain but harder to go up against when you're forced to. Fortresses are the next logical step, giving a lot more intense defensive capability in one area for a very high limiting cost. If towers were perfectly balanced we wouldn't need the minimum distance and build restrictions, and we'd see the same thing manifest in tower density. I'd personally make them territory roots, you can control a lot of land with a fortress, and generally speaking that's what they've always been for. In the countryside to extend your reach, or in a city to serve as a citadel so the whole city doesn't fall with the CC
  6. Torsion only describes whats powering the thing. Torsion engines include ballistae and scorpions, later mangonels and onagers. Its not a real good description of a thing, like saying my car runs on gas, you know the kind
  7. Stones and branches provide weight to protect from winds and birds
  8. A traction trebuchet would be a real pain, and rams would be redundant with elephants
  9. Wish I had more Persian buildings to model lol, brings me back to playing Prince of Persia. Way better series than Assassin's creed imo, though I'm glad Ubisoft didn't run it too far into the ground. Lovely exaggerated Babylonian environments in TTT I almost forgot that the Mauryans have no siege weapons at all. I suppose they will be our one exception then. Will you be moving to the Iberian workshop next @stanislas69?
  10. lol blender's a little tricky about it, you can select loose geometry with vert selection and not get edges, and with edge selection and not get verts. I tend to forget edges too. Not too hard to fix on my end. I'd also say careful with the materials, they make for nice renders but for some reason the engine didn't like them this time around :/
  11. every playable faction is getting all 3. No shortcuts.
  12. Spartan, Iberian, and Persian ranges. This is going to be the dump thread for the new building artwork.
  13. Careful with your loose geometry Stan, both edges and verts. You had floating edges in both of these Iberian buildings
  14. On topic Todo: Barracks fixes and general footprint fixes, eventual theater replacement
  15. I've been using Indeed, never heard of glassdoor until now. If you can intern for a big company like that, put it on the top of your resume lol
  16. Following that footprint to the letter, nice
  17. We're already dealing with a laundry list of 37 buildings. I am doing work for the base game, let me be clear. Any benefit to modders is coincidental aside from Terra Magna, but don't mistake that for contempt, you've all proven to be quite snappy when it comes to experimenting and implementing alternative features. I'm only modelling these between job applications. If things fall off it means good things for me, and I don't want to dump a huge list of tasks on the art department.
  18. I've said it before and I'll say it again markets are a pain in the @#$%
  19. These templates are dormant for the time being, we can coordinate that later.
  20. I was thinking it would serve as both a prereq building for ranged cavalry and towers, an archer tech building, and a training building for foot archers (slingers and javelinists too) That would warrant building multiple so it is visually apparent to scouts what units a town is geared to respond with if attacked.
