  1. I'm actually not sure if that is a good idea. Do we want the confusion that arises when one player is talking about the 'blue' player and another player has set that player to be red?
  2. If anyone is interested in working on this, I've cleaned up and slightly expanded upon quantumstate's prototype and uploaded it here: https://github.com/z...ck-notification Currently, it correctly presents a textual warning to the player who has come under attack. This should be replaced with an aural warning. It plays an aural warning to the player who has come under attack. However, the minimap 'ping' notification has yet to be implemented. This must be done in C++, I believe. A function for acquiring a list of ongoing attacks against the current player is already in place. The minimap ping has been implemented by madmax. Finally, this implementation suppresses repeated attack signals from the same location, so as to not inundate the player with warnings from the same battle, but not attack signals from the same unit. If the unit is moving (fleeing), it's conceivable that the player will get multiple warnings for the same skirmish. This should be fixed.

    Couple Bugs

Who exactly said this? I believe unique voices per civilization is planned, but for now there is only one per gender. The game is under development.
  4. We already have a technology for that. It's called 'Town Phase'
  5. We should never make the mistake of thinking that 'plans' is the prerequisite for something getting done - ramming will happen if e.g. Pedro Falcão decides to implement it.
  6. Regrettably, no. Nice looking cliffs have overhangs, which is not supported by the heightmap terrain we use.
  7. If that is the same patch as the one attached to the memory leak ticket, I believe I did try it and found no issue. Go ahead and commit, as far as I am concerned. The worst that can happen is that you get more feedback
  8. Would it perhaps be possible to set up an autobuilder on a server held in SPI's name and fix #1819 in the process?
  9. Wherein lies the danger of discussing other approaches? I can probably do triggers, but I'd rather wait until I can use Git
  10. Of course it can. It lowers the reputation of the organization to have 'henchmen' running around doing its dirty work.
  11. Really? So I can go and promote my favorite political party, and when they stop me after I have recruited 10000 voters, I just say "oh, I'm not affiliated with the party", even though the damage is already done. Seems really clever. It's clearly not sustainable, and IMO reflects poorly on 0 A.D. regardless of how it's attributed. Also the policy express forbids: "advocacy, propaganda, or recruitment of any kind: commercial, political, religious, national, sports-related, or otherwise", so it's not really a question of what license is used.
  12. IMO, please don't. That's not really an appropriate way to use Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Wikipedia_is_not_a_soapbox_or_means_of_promotion
  13. Instead of demanding more of others, take responsibility yourself. It has been said that translation isn't supported right now. If you want to do it anyway, you're on your own.
  14. Maybe label the button something other than "More options" in scenario mode, since they aren't really options (except the 'cheats' check box). More like presets.
  15. Haz sources? Ideally, anything we do for the sake of historical accuracy should come with proper citations, IMO.
  16. There already is one Just press Shift while clicking on the tile you want to 'pick' the texture from.
  17. You should start a profile for these fellas Would be great to have that link in, IMO.
  18. Oh. You're screwed I believe the "reset password" thingy is out of order.
  19. Have you reset your password? If so, try using your original password.
  20. Well, judging by the civilizations, especially the original six, yes. http://wildfiregames.com/0ad/page.php?c=38
  21. I would much rather see the Chinese in a mod that would do their greatness justice, than have them oddly lumped in in a Mediterranean-centric game.
  22. It has some kind of impact on rendering performance, but not the type of lag that most people are seeing (which is CPU lag).
  23. I get that too occasionally. It's likely the same issue, the tree is just beyond the edge of the map.
  24. Isn't that basically the job description of a military engineer?
