  1. For some reason, the video on Mythos's new video seems stop at about 23 min after the fortress's foundation has been placed but before the units reach it to start construction and the AI responds, though the audio and playback continue.
  2. It was planned for there to be a height bonus for units in garrisoned structures (the Britons special tech, Turos Maros, was planned to improve that), so I don't see why there shouldn't be a height bonus for units on higher terrain.
  3. CCR, finally something else I am familiar with.
  4. Supremacy is the standard mode we have now with territories. Death Match would be similar to Supremacy, but have a lot of starting resources and its a common mode in RTS games. Mythos has mentioned before that there could potentially be a mode without territories.
  5. I basically do the exact same thing quantumstate does, use everything that isn't hunting before starting on farms. Unless its a random map like Cantabrian Highlands, there usually isn't enough fruit bushes, fig trees, and/or apple trees for foraging to be viable, herding is comparable to foraging in viability (corrals really need to work the way they are planned for herding to be viable), and hunting is generally too much of a hassle to be practical. The Mauryan Worker Elephant gives the Mauryans a slight boost in foraging, herding, and hunting, though it still usually isn't practical to herd and hunt even with the Worker Elephant.
  6. When corrals are set up as planned, garrisoning animals to gain a steady trickle of food and/or a discount on training mounted units, basically the animal nursery in Galactic Battlegrounds with some additional benefits, they will be a much more attractive alternative to farming. I for one would use corrals a lot more when they are set up like that.
  7. I didn't buy it back in 1999, I didn't even have a computer back in 1999, and I actually owned Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds before I ever owned Age of Empires, so my disks still work just fine, but I can see why this could be attractive, just not for me, since I would rather have a good singleplayer game then be tied to a third-party service just for multiplayer. Those guys were annoying, all they did was talk about Steam like they were advertising it, so I didn't even watch all of it.
  8. It looks nice, but I don't want to buy it again just for multiplayer and I don't like Steam.
  9. I sure don't have a clue, all I have are old Nvidia graphics cards, so I don't have a clue what would be better, though I probably should find out about all of these kinds of things if I ever want to play something like StarCraft II or even 0 A.D. better.
  10. If I had a better computer, I would have already got involved with funding PA by now.
  11. There needs to be a way for citizen-soldiers to only accept military commands at the player's discretion, because maneuvering around trees can be very tricky if you don't want to gather wood there.
  12. The YouTube profile still points to the old site.
  13. No I haven't, thanks for pointing it out. I just hope such an update would do what Stardock and many other technology people have already recognized needed to be done and bring back the Start menu and make those bloody apps windowed. I have no interest in getting Windows 8 anytime soon, since, as a programmer, I must have a windowed environment, not the hybrid environment, in order to be productive on a PC. By all means improve support for tablets and other touch devices, but not at the expense of the windowed environment. I strongly dislike Steam, so this just won't work for me, and so do I. I wonder how Germany handled non-Steam versions of Supreme Commander Gold being changed to Steam versions about a year ago.
  14. I can't believe how annoying Microsoft is becoming, first Windows 8, and now this.
  15. I know this thread is for random maps, but there isn't a scenario thread and things seem to get dealt with when posted here. To my knowledge, the scenario Laconia still uses the old version of the Spartiā́tēs in the starting army that is supposed to get massacred. Also, units don't seem to be able to reach the top of the southwestern acropolis in some versions of the scenario Acropolis, specifically Acropolis 2, 3, and 5, when there is an unfinished Greek temple or treasure on top of it.
  16. Okay, I'm an idiot, the menu background flickering was on the built in graphics card on a Gateway E-5000, which also has a blue screen of doom that I don't know what to do about.
  17. Well, I did try to use a computer that has a Nvidia GeForce 4200 Ti, but the 0 A.D. menu background flickers. I am actually afraid of updating the drivers on the 6200, because there was a bad batch that didn't work with the world map on Stronghold Kingdoms, so I reverted and haven't bothered to update since then.
  18. I don't have too much trouble running the game with these specs, though probably should get a better computer instead of using my parents' computer. OS: Windows XP Service Pack 3 CPU: Intel Pentium 4, 2.66 GHz GPU: Nvidia GeForce 6200, 256 MB RAM: Rambus, 512 MB
  19. They deal with random maps not scenarios.
  20. It sounds like the Mauryan walls changed from wood to stone over time, so perhaps there should be a special technology that represents this change?
  21. I am not sure if anyone has addressed this, so I am quoting it here to ensure it doesn't get overlooked. Also, units don't seem to be able to reach the top of the southwestern acropolis in some versions of the scenario Acropolis, specifically Acropolis 2, 3, and 5, when there is an unfinished Greek temple or treasure on top of it.
  22. To my knowledge, the scenario Laconia still uses the old version of the Spartiā́tēs in the starting army that is supposed to get massacred.
  23. The Parihuvādā is a scenario-only structure, so its not supposed to be buildable by default, like the Hellenic Stoa and Royal Stoa.
  24. Here are my suggestions for the rephrased descriptions of several civ and team bonuses. athen.json Silver Coinage "Description":"For allies only, metal mining gathering rates increased by 10% for each passing phase." cart.json Roundup "Description": "The resource cost of training elephant-mounted (war elephant) or horse-mounted units (cavalry) is reduced by 5% per animal corralled (as appropriate)." iber.json Harritsu Lekku "Description": "Iberians start with a powerful prefabricated circuit of stone walls." Zaldi Saldoa "Description": "The resource cost of training horse-mounted units (cavalry) is reduced by 5% per animal corralled." Saripeko "Description": "Infantry and cavalry citizen-soldier javelinists civ cost -50%." mace.json Hellenic League "Description":"Macedonian units have +10% attack bonus vs. Persian and Hellenic factions, but -5% attack debonus vs. Romans." Standardized Currency "Description":"+15% tribute and trade bonus on metal." pers.json Corral Camels and Horses "Description": "The resource cost of training camel-mounted (trader) or horse-mounted units (cavalry) is reduced by 5% per animal corralled (as appropriate)." Great King's Levy "Description": "Persians have a +10% population cap bonus (330 pop cap instead of the usual 300)." Royal Road "Description": "+25% trade profit land routes." spart.json Laws of Lycurgus "Description":"In City Phase, all citizen-soldiers promote directly to Elite rank after 1 kill, but -10% population cap debonus." 25. Here is the Quotes.txt file with the changes I suggested in previous posts, the missing opening quotation mark in line 385, and the additional quote. quotes.txt
