The last Alpha, Alpha 10.

In the Isthmus scenario, there is a rogue wall segment in a stand of trees to the southeast of the Spartan (default human player) starting position, that causes non-fatal errors if selected.

Based on the previously mentioned site, http://spokensanskrit.de/, the best translation I can find for Edict Pillar of Ashoka to Sanskrit is Śāsana Stambha Aśokā. Apparently, there isn't a specific translation for the word "of" in Sanskrit, and I can't find a translation with "of" in context with pillar or Ashoka.

I am well aware of the origins and influence of the cataphract on the future. The cataphract is one of the reasons why I consider the Byzantine Empire "a light when all other lights had gone out" that kept the knowledge of the ancient world alive into the medieval world, until the future finally caught up with them.
-
Cataphracts indeed, definitely one of the most impressive types of cavalry in history.
-
I know that, I just don't see any reason why it won't happen. I am looking forward to the Parthians after looking into the Battle of Carrhae and the use of cavalry archers that aren't just chariots, not that there is a problem with chariots.

I understand, structural changes to buildings between phases will be something addresed in part 2 of 0 A.D. to improve factions, excellent.
-
Ah, so the Domus in the Village Phase, the Villae in the Town Phase, and the Insulae in the City Phase, excellent.

The Carthaginian Naval Shipyard, the Cothon, hasn't been updated in Wiki/Trac.

Speaking of the Celtic Civ Centre, the Caer. Why are the citizen-soldiers in an inverted order in the build menu of the alternate version of the Caer seen in the Belgian Bog scenario? Normally the units at a Civ Centre are organized female citizen, melee citizen-soldier, ranged citizen-solider, and cavalry citizen-soldier, but with the alternate version of the Caer, they are organized female citizen, cavalry citizen-soldier, ranged citizen-soldier, and melee citizen-soldier.

Poliorki̱tikós Kriós is the best translation I can find for battering ram in Greek. I don't know what the best choice for Edict Pillar of Ashoka would be, but I think Pillar of Ashoka may be a better choice for the generic name. Also, there are a lot of options for both edict and pillar, but whatever translation used will most likely contain Aśokā, since that is indeed the correct translation of Ashoka in Sanskrit.

Ah, I knew there was more to using that translator than meets to eye, here are slightly better translations with diacritics, Worker Elephant is Karmākara Gaja and Elephant Stable is Vāraṇaśālā. No wonder my previous translations were wierd.
-
Based on this site, http://spokensanskrit.de/, which was has been mentioned before in this thread, the best translation I can find, transliteration in parenthesis, for Worker Elephant is Karmakara Gaja (karmakara gaja) and for Elephant Stable is Varanazala (vAraNazAlA) (I am not sure if the next to last character is an capital i or a lowercase l). Someone else should be able to come up with a better translation with these as a starting point.

I am well aware of the original plan for the Hellenes and the Celts (An idea I would love to have seen realized, since I am a displeased with the way Rebellion, the stand-alone expansion for Sins of a Solar Empire (SoaSE), handled faction spliting. Stardock and Ironclad's original plan was the similar to the original plan for the Hellenes and the Celts, but they decided against it.), though I believe the decision to split them was for the best. I was also under the impression that a redesign wasn't planned, especially with the reaction from other members of the team to this thread. I think there is merit to AbdelMuhamar's concerns, and hope a suitable decision from the team is reached.
-
I didn't say it would be easy. I am just trying to present a reasonable solution to AbdelMuhamar's concerns without having to scrap the current Celtic buildings, due to the enthusiasim on the matter.
-
There are actually two Celtic factions depicted in the game, the Gauls and the Britons, and as I understand it, have been split in preparation for Alpha 11. I wonder if it would work better if the Gauls were given a new set of urban structures, while the Britons can just keep the existing rural set.

I agree with wraitii, it looks great.
-
And besides, the domus is already the Roman house.
-
The villas would be great for the city phase.
-
Changing the pop bonus of houses in the town and/or city phases for certain civs sounds like a great plan for adding another level of uniqueness to the civs.
-
Indeed, the art department has already got to design the Mauryan Indians, so the best that could be done at the moment is to brainstorm on what exactly should be done.

Figures, I don't have the SVN, I really should start using that at some point. -

I got the map preview working, I accidentally mixed up two of the folder names in the path. I really hate it when I do that. Now the only thing that isn't working are the sprites. -

The latest version works great, except I can't get the map preview to work right.
