I'm aware of that, different from each other. On the one hand the anti-Hellenistic nationalist fervor. On the other hand, many nuances of the Hellenistic period. The period is not as theocratic as in the time of Moses or King David, it is not the Levi tribe that is serving as priesthood. After the captivity of Assyria and Babylon many things changed. Seleucids didn't handle this very well. They use many guerrilla warfare, the land of Judea were very good place for this. Now other interesthing point. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maccabees https://books.google.hn/books?id=Py9Y_HejORQC&pg=PR591&lpg=PR591&dq=maccabeeS+equipement&source=bl&ots=--cLi-mKr_&sig=ACfU3U0-fMkbFtAwFg4QiJA18jUb9qYLAg&hl=es&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjh9JOO0-njAhXLjFkKHRUpDLMQ6AEwCHoECAkQAQ#v=onepage&q=maccabeeS equipement&f=false
