It's all good Sorpico. And we have another who has started contributed some sounds, so we'll see how he works out. All is not lost. Who knows where we'll be in December on the sound front. Good luck on your film!
The Library of Alexandria would have had Greek architecture. Your Egyptian building is awesome though. Could throw it into the editor as an easter egg building for the Ptolemies.
I don't think a civ-specific sound would be too difficult to discern for players. The attacked unit(s) flash on the minimap, and eventually we'll probably have chat notifications as well.
We were talking about this a little bit on IRC. I think we'd instead like a separate map selection screen that shows all the map previews. You can then "sort" them based on metadata. Size, num players, etc.
I think we'll have "skirmish" default entities for all major types of buildings (and maybe some special buildings too). Be patient though. Skirmish maps are less than a day old.
Keep in mind, the Library will be the 'common' special building for the Macedonians and Seleucids, as well as the Ptolemies. It'll be one of those things "tying" all the Successor states together.
^This right here is very true. But if there is to be a part 2, tentatively titled "0 A.D. - Empires Besieged", then the list of factions is generally pretty obvious, at least 5 or 6 of them anyway.
In Macedonian and Seleucid armies, "silver" was a greater honor than "gold." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seleucid_army#Argyraspides http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argyraspides
We'd really like to do them justice in the sequel, plus they were much more 'active' against Rome during the imperial period ("0 A.D. - Empires Ascendant" takes place from 500 B.C. to 1 B.C., while "0 A.D. - Empires Besieged" takes place from A.D. 1 to A.D. 500).
