  1. @Mentula kudos to the tool! I love it, don't have too many replays to show though. Perhaps you know if there is a way to enable sharing replays between players? E.g. uploading them to some sort of database/sharing peer to peer.

  2. I have to admit, before I started modding the Syracusans, I was very ignorant of their exciting history. They're actually a very dynamic faction that easily rivals or surpasses Sparta, Athens, and Briton.

  3. There is no shared database/cloud/space for replays, as far as I know. The idea of sharing replays has been brought up by other users, and I personally like it, as it has other side benefits in terms of sharing knowledge about the game. For what it is worth, my dream is that one day Wildfire Games will have the economic and developing resources to afford own lobby servers. That will allow collecting replays, along with solving many of the major problems affecting the game today.

  4. Currently no, but we plan to make an RC relatively soon and it'll be bundled with this mod.

  5. If the vid is unavailable (after 4.5 years), how do you think @Lion.Kanzen will be able to help?

  6. It's alright. There are two types of simulation components C++ ones (in source/simulation2/components) and JavaScript ones (in binaries/data/mods/public/simulation/components). Components ids, in this case IID_Identity usually match the file they represent, here Identity.js (JavaScript hence the second type) Engine.QueryInterface returns an interface to an Identity object in that case, allowing you to call of its methods. One of them is GetClassesList. You can find the definition here. https://code.wildfiregames.com/source/0ad/browse/ps/trunk/binaries/data/mods/public/simulation/components/Identity.js$140

  10. Indeed. Ranged damage should be a nice bonus or harrasser, not the primary damager of an army. Even range-heavy civs like Persians and Han would have had to engage with their melee troops to decide the matter, let alone the Romans and Greeks and Celts who all used ranged troops in a secondary or even tertiary role.

  11. Hello everyone, I recently had a few conversations with players on the lobby about "how to improve". When I am being asked, I usually reply with: 1. watch replays 2. watch ValihrAnt videos 3. read this file. This file is what I am presenting in this thread: it's a collection of tips & tricks I initially shared with my friends and then made it public on my GitLab page. It might be incomplete, it might be wrong in some of its parts, it might give importance to aspects that are not or viceversa, etc... I am not in the position of claiming this is a manual to become a good player. However, it might be useful to somebody and I'm happy to share if it helps. The file is divided into three sections: 1. Interface, 2. Logistics, 3. Fighting. Each section contains a list of tips & tricks in sparse order; each tip comes with an extra tip. Cheers Source: https://gitlab.com/mentula0ad/0ad-tips-and-tricks

  12. i thought of this too, resetting ratings every alpha would be better. Most 2000+ players do not move on unless they find a player >= 1900 to play with. Lorenz123 left the game years ago and somehow still remains in top 100 till now, i think he's in top 15. This is because higher players needs to play with other higher ranked players in other to get good ratings. If there's no higher ranked player to play with, the leaderboard is just stagnant. I bet 80% of the top 100 players are offline for years, making it hard for the leaderboard to move as its supposed to
