An overview of the current texture for the Carthaginian unit roster. Iron cuirass for the Sacred band is represented through iron scale cuirass partnered with a reworked version of the old texture to retain the Carthaginian-white appeal of its unit roster. Bronze scale was reserved for the elite rank Libyan-Phoenician spearman (I am having reservations on using chainmail, I want to suggest that Hannibal's veteran spearmen be represented as a separate unit) @Stan` @Sundiata Did the looting of Roman chainmail only occurred during Hannibal's period, or was this a thing even in the previous Punic Wars? Advanced rank armor was also reworked, I added modified visual assets from the Ptolemaic faction since it is a close neighboring region. Weathered linothorax was also used and for their tunics, long sleeved and sleeveless variants were added. I did not used player color since the shield is already effective.2 points

Hexagonal shields are attested in the late Gallic cultures (after 150 BC). Hex shields can be used to specifically distinguish units, it will depend on how the roster will be done. The Celtic warrior used both in the battle. A spear/javelin combined with a sword. There are some burials found with only swords and thousands of swords have been found, so I suggested a Gallic swordsman originally but yet the roster is not validated. However, poorer warriors probably used only javelins and spears. Again it will depend on the future roster. I suggest either: - To remove the scabbard for the spearman. - To give the scabbard only to higher rank spearman (advanced or elite). Btw, the iron scabbard should be on the right side. Sleeveless tunic are attested. For a couple pictures useful in general for textures:2 points

ships cant ram. Swordcav and Lancecavis useless. Archers own them in mass! U still dont get notified when u r in a battle wiht a player and another player is raping ur base. Ship battles are lame (no special attacks, no fire tirime etc, just arrows like wtf.) Macedonians have +10% attack bonus vs Persians?! Unfair and unrealistic. I have to ban them every time I play as Persians. Persians and Carthanians tradebonus got nerfed (stop nerfing every cultural benefit), 25% extra HP for cav is only 20% because of some stupid upgrade in the stable. Ballista are totally overpowered. 3 ballista can rape army of 100 with eles. Melee units are trying to convert opponents siege instead of destroying it. Slingers are somewhat overpowered ( their walking speed is too high, they can escape cav) Further sugguestions: Add some Asian culture (Chinese/Han)! That also gets 10% pop bonus. Improve wall building, so that it automatically closes the gaps.1 point

For me it is ok. We have multiple evidence in celtic art for human figures with this kind of hat but only one archeological evidence for a chieftain. We do not know if it was exclusive for non-religious member. We do not know if the chieftain was also a religious figure, and we do not know how far the druid could be an authority in the society. In some case, a Druid could act as a political leader as well.1 point

@Alexandermb You broke the build, can you fix the first one in priority ? Else we won't know if something goes wrong with any commit ? Can you remove </variant> public\art\actors\units\spartans\infantry_javelinist_a.xml at line 43 ? Can you fix all those errors ? @wackyserious maybe we could use this in the meantime if you have something planned for later: In the current state the brit champion texture terrible compared to the rest of the units, because of the low texture resolution it has.1 point

Ah i see, its like Total War Attacking when the unit is pushed back, it looks good, but remember the attacking animations are generic of rall kind of entities, buildings, horses, ships etc. Would be weird having the infantry react in that way from a non existent attack of a building for example. That however would be good if it could be a small space between attacks to have an animation of reaction of being hitted.1 point

IIRC on his design doc of shields distribution, Hexagonal plain are for Gauls while Hexagonal with a Moon Shape top and bottom borders are for britons only.1 point
-
Don't worry, commit it today i want to see them ingame . im just starting right now so nothing to worry about, i would only need to add the cape prop change on the gauls actors to keep in sync.1 point
-
I will do a change on capes right now, (tomorrow if can't fix all the capes) i achieved the generalization of them following horse blankets actor naming. Name will now be: cape_"size or mesh*_faction.1 point
-
@Alexandermb I noticed that basic rank Celtic spearman was assigned sheathed iron swords, I will fix it in my commit.1 point

i think i've managed to make the capes generic just like the horse blankets. Will be testing and if it goes good will do a capes actors cleaning, renaming and infantry too.1 point
