  1. More shot of River Oxus. If/when the map resizing patch committed, I can make of 4 player version. Right now, just 2 player version.

  2. Richard Hughes writes (probably with respect to the "GNOME Software Center"): The URL provided doesn't work for me right now but this does: https://odrs.gnome.org/oars . Let's add this, shall we?

  3. Indeed it differs from our survival of the fittest map as players still fight between each other. We could add a checkbox to the gamesetup deciding whether the gaia waves should be exponential or stay at a constant level (or perhaps a dropdown giving more choices on the intensity of waves). This way players could modulate whether it will be some zombie invasion gameplay like survival of the fittest or whether the gaia waves are smaller distractions when fighting the other players like on the "gallic fields" skirmish map. Btw thanks to fatherbushido gaia-, AI- and other non-player controlled units are now much smarter. They dont capture the first house encountered but walk past buildings to kill the women and infantry, becoming a much more considerable threat r18765

  4. If the mountains are different enough from different viewing angles, then variation would still be there. This one here looks a lot different from different angles: http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-obj-rocky-mountain/654220

  5. I made cliffs variants meshes for the game they are available in my eyecandy mod on the 0admods repo =)

  6. I would agree. I don't think there's anything wrong with name changes, but I don't think we should encourage/advertise them either.

  7. Re 3D-mesh mountains: I do agree that something like this would be good for the game, it would allow us to give more details to the terrain where it is currently quite annoying to do so. Likewise for cliffs. I'm thinking maybe a better solution however would be some sort of 3D-decal, where we have a model of "pikes and rocks" that just overlays the terrain dynamically, so you can have details for various types of mountains instead of making them similar. More like a special terrain tile than a mesh. Though for cliffs you should be able to get away with the "follow height" actors.

  8. I don't really think this is survival of the fittest, though. That's a fundamentally PVE game, I'm definitely thinking of some added element to PvP or PvAI.

  9. All victory conditions should become boolean options, so that we can play with an arbitrary set of victory conditions. For the same reason the "last man standing" mode wasn't made some victory condition but consciously setup as a boolean. The "survival of the fittest " "mode" would just be another checkbox. It also wouldn't become a victory condition because it doesn't have to decide when someone has won. Same goes for the "nomad" "mode" btw, every map should support that, independent of all other "modes", I hope we can do all of that next for alpha 22 :-)

  11. What is that supposed to mean? PPL with a slow or unstable internet connection are AFAIK meant to play 0 A.D. (hence the rejoin option - if I'm not misstaken). People who leave the game and don't rejoin within a given ammount of time should simply be handled as losing the game - since they are not playing it. I'm quite sure "noob" is a plain insult and should be avoided - even if noone specific is pointed at! Same goes for "trolls" IMO - ask a moderator and they can handle the case if seen fit. And in general: Identifying players that don't fit well in a particular game is not as easy as looking at some stats IMO... and definitely a matter of taste.

  12. I think this should be an exception rather than a common practice, since it may be inconvenient for other people (especially when profile image is also changed and there is no signature or other info to identify the person).

  13. That's likely what's happened (CC didn't match the player's civ). @RDUN7188 if you are making a skirmish map (as you've said above), you normally should use the "skirmish/structures/default_civil_centre" template (rather than civ-specific ones), the same applies to other starting buildings/units (filter entities by "skirmish" and see what's available).

  15. It's like they are tokens you can add to your collection. Same with the civ emblems.

  16. New map preview images. All skirmish maps have them now I work on random map and scenarios.
