  1. Right but artists are not here for that and don't decide this stuff like at all. Most if not all don't even touch the game at all except adding new actors. Which is not wasting time because that's why they are here that's what they do best and that's what they want to do. The last point is the philosophy here which sounds quite weird from the outside especially when you look at it from a company pov. But that's how it works. Also trampling has a patch. Was just not reviewed, accepted and commited yet because nobody had the time to do it.

  4. You're talking about two completely different departments that operate nearly independently of each other. Attention towards art will not affect attention elsewhere, since artists generally don't work in balancing or programming. Don't feel the need to put down conversations you don't find particularly useful to those you prefer.

  8. Maybe I misunderstood your request. The sound is a hit of an animal attacking an unit (that's why it's that short), did you mean an alert for gaia attacking the faction instead? By the way (just to make it clear), units trained and research completed already have a sound, do you mean to change it right? Cheers

  9. Thanks fatherbushido, but I already knew that one. That is actor switching on tech/json side. I thought maybe there was code in the actors themself that recognize techs are being research, inside the actor xml as a variation. Was this implemented or just maybe I saw it was a Trac ticket and my memory got confused.

  11. Yes it is. Use the replace (instead of add or multiply) operation for the value: VisualActor/Actor For example: "modifications": [{ "value": "VisualActor/Actor", "replace": "units/athenians/champion_unit_marine.xml" }] Currently it is not used in the main game afaics but it works pretty well.

  15. You can hack the game to do that, by modifying the tree files and removing the obstruction (setting it to 0).
