  2. Do you wall in often? What is your solution to walling off wood lines? How many towers do you usually erect to support the boom? Any tips to wall in effectively in 0 A.D. are also welcome.
  3. Hey. I think the performers can work with the sheet music for the original instruments and adapt to what they have. But the planned leading wind instrument is likely to be the ocarina. There are some festivals upcoming in late August and mid October. I don't know what was available and how long it would take to assemble the sheet music, but I appreciate the time. Thanks.
  4. a second group with ctrl + number for siege, and shift right click and make a way
  5. That's actually a really cool breakdown — love how you're balancing things while keeping that historical flavor. The camel addition for the Persians is a great touch. It’s a fun detail that also has a real tactical logic to it (horses freaking out around camels is historically documented, after all). Definitely adds depth without just stacking more cavalry. I like the idea of giving the Romans a sword bonus too — feels appropriate, and the nod to Iberian steel is a nice bit of realism. As for Sparta, champs being stronger makes sense, and having the heroes appear in P2 with nerfed stats but full bonuses sounds like a solid compromise. That could create some really interesting early-game decisions without being OP. And yeah, the Celtic Coalition is shaping up to be really diverse. Even if the Gauls were more about raw infantry and numbers, bringing in units from other tribes makes it more exciting to play them. Looking forward to seeing where you take this next — keep it up!

    Version 0.26

There are some issues with building from sources though, mainly the sheer size of the repo, and since the assets are not cached, it will take another 2 extra GB of space. But other than this you should be good. Regarding the flatpak it's maintained by us, so if it's the content rather than the technology itself that's the issue, you are safe with it.
  7. @Ludwik RTS games are tough. Not a lot of people can stand the stress of multitasking, managing the economy with 4 different resources, micro and macro needed to win games. Maybe 0 A.D. just isn't a kind of game for you, and that is OK. Thank you for trying it out!
  8. I don't remember having this issue, but pathfinder still needs some work. Are the siege engines in formation? You could try to disable it by setting them on the "x" (no formation).
  9. Whenever I try to muster my army and form an attack, it ALWAYS ends up that the siege engines lag behind a huge amount, and will even actively move to the back of the formation when the army gets close, even when I highlight them separately. The sieges will be in the front, and will immediately start driving in REVERSE for some reason. Need a fix badly.
  10. Hello, It's really too difficult to play online. I've never won a game. I don't speak English, and the chat is only in English, making it impossible to understand anything. I'm giving up and deleting the game from my computer. Thanks again to everyone who tried to help me.
  11. I totally agree with your choice - A23 really left a strong impression and still feels like a classic. It had a good balance between performance and atmosphere, and the AI improvements and unique champion units really added depth to the gameplay. For me, it's details like these that make a game feel alive and exciting. Sure, later alphas have added a lot, but that "old school" feel of A23 is really hard to replicate. Thanks for the great breakdown!

What version of Ubuntu do you have? Secondly: building from source is not that scary – you just have to write it down in steps. Best regards. PS. I would avoid Flatpak.
  14. Yes my friend, you do. Btw. the only buildings where archers add more arrows than other soldiers are walls.
  15. Thanks so much for this! Definitely going to try it out!

    Version 0.26

Update: I think I had the wrong commit for flatpak originally, which is why it didnt seem to work... This one seems to work so far: sudo flatpak update --commit=23651e2468be2d470ab01600ef5ae2e3314062c39d9faf0febcfff7d4c18fec0 com.play0ad.zeroad but perhaps I should go back even further to this commit: 8323bdb2df460d5b97781f728bf70ba4eb7240af as it seems to correlate well with when the 0.26 version was released https://github.com/flathub/com.play0ad.zeroad/commits/master/?after=1108f36d9d0e2b174a31009f68e102aebe7542e9+34
  17. I have two windows computers and a linux machine (Ubuntu). One of the windows laptops has an old graphics chip and so version 0.27 is unplayable on that machine. I want to be able to play 0ad in multiplayer with my family across all three computers, so I quickly and easily downgraded from 0.27 to 0.26 on the two windows machines. 0ad now works great for multiplayer on those two machines. Just one more to go! However, the versions on all 3 computers must match and downgrading doesn't seem to be so easy on my Ubuntu machine. I downloaded/unpacked these files: 0ad-0.0.26-alpha-unix-build.tar.xz, 0ad-0.0.26-alpha-unix-data.tar.xz but the instructions for building from these files are a mile long. Is there a way to get a package type installation for 0.26 on Ubuntu? I also tried flatpak, but that didn't work well. Thanks in advance!

  20. Your horse doesn't fit in a tower. In the cc or fort it's ok. Except when the game setting is regicide and hero garrison is off, then also no additional arrows. Maybe just change the tooltip to "it's complicated".
  21. Agree. Don't believe the AI. Hence my post.
  22. @Itms, congrats on rc1! Packaged for my distro and all went well, the only thing that might need a note is if using system premake5 then it needs to be < beta4 because of the api break.
  23. Hello @Satevis, thank you for your interest in performing my music! Currently, there isn't any sheet music prepared, but if you let me know which insturments are planned for the performance and when you'd like to have it, I will try to make some for you. That being said, due to a war going on in my part of the world at the moment, I can't really guarantee I'll be able to meet a quick deadline - just something to keep in mind. Thanks again,
  24. The general structure of the civs make them generally playable by the IA. Unlike say, Hyrule civs, which needed their own IA.
  25. Due to the nature of the game, the Android app would have to compute the game, which means you should technically still be able to play it. There was an android build in the past, but it's unmaintained.
