  3. Yes but that’s usually something newer players will do; not pros. There is no point of having 4 barracks if you don’t have the economy to always keep them training. Depending on the value of the production building, let’s say a barracks, you could have enough wood for 4 or 6 more soldiers to increase your wood intake depending on civ. It’s a problem I see a lot with newer players and even some “veterans” make. Nussantara in particular will build 6 stables when he doesn’t have the resources to train from all 6 so one or more is always idle.
  4. Yes, you do have to get gatherers and stuff, but then you can just build like 20 barracks or something; it doesn't seem very economical to me. That's fine if you don't change it though
  5. Should I add advanced cav for every civ?

  7. Perhaps GitHub could be an option?
  8. 2gb to the forum is too large, IMHO. Eventually we'll be porting the forum over to new software and having massive files like this may create issues (or maybe not).
  9. I once helped out with a RC version, ~1.5GB was no problem, don't think there's a quota either. (Don't know if you can compress that file.)
  10. Well, there are only a few ways to make the Elite version of the standard archer stand out from the basic and advanced ranks. Armor is pretty much the only way. Generator is chatgpt. I specifically asked for a Manchu bow, but it makes it look like what you see there. I even gave it references.
  11. Thanks for your answer. Separate threads for many of these details seems too much… for example, alongside 3), these seemed well received and don’t seem controversial (if so, I thought it would be good to know with a poll), besides being apparently easy to implement: 1) loading screen having a “press any key to continue”, 2) double clicking idle worker button to select all of them, 4) Continue Campaign appear only under Single Player, 5) Campaigns must have different names, 6) Restart and Load game options during a game, 7) option to hide full health bars. There are a few more like this, I was going to gather those with more chances of going somewhere after my next 20 points. I’ve seen polls regarding way more controversial things, so I’m really not sure what should be the next step to have a better grasp of everyone’s opinion, how to move from "too early" since those were posted in January
  12. @Stan` How much is the file size limit for source files or for posting on the forum ? the body blend file is almost 2Gb but i like any1 could have it here and experiment if they know how to sculpt and bake.
  13. At least the baking test work's fine. Ignore the missing hand's is just a test of preliminary for skin shader's with norm maps for new head's:
  14. Was there anything you think I should change?
  15. For skin tone issue i'm experimenting with a toga:
  16. i would like to figure a better way to make Spiky hair a plain mesh like the hair of Guile from Tekken: But the hair has been the most complicated shape of baking in blender because from geometry nodes it looks beautifull but it only work's as hair cards. i removed noise from hair normal map but left it on the beard or short hair or it will look plaing wich it isn't the objective.
  17. Hello Thalatta, I'd like to refer to the OP. I understand the intention of this thread to be that individual points of criticism may be posted here. All too often, lists of suggestions are posted here in one answer which then become the subject of discussion, even though each of them would be better off in their own threads. I feel it is too early to start a separate thread with a poll. The power of the first draft is too influential here. Perhaps it would be enough to discuss the individual topics in separate threads and, if some are likely to receive more support, to launch a poll if necessary. However, this does not commit the developers. Please bear in mind that probably many people do not read this catch-all thread.
  18. If the units are in a blob, it’s almost impossible to do that to end with a specific number of units selected, BUT instead of a selection box, clicking also works. One still has to manage to hit the unit, which can be a bit cumbersome if the blob is moving. I think CTRL+right click on portraits should remove a random (or some other criteria) unit from that selection, or at least I keep wanting to do that. But what you said is indeed useful.
  19. @vladislavbelov btw per civ is it better to have 8 256x128 textures or one 2048x1024 for all 8 heads but with 8 separate meshes, with identical geometry but different UV. (Sadly we can't specify atlas position in actor)
  20. With the current control group selected, I hold CTRL and maka a selection box over the units that need to be deselected.
  21. The lack of this is really annoying sometimes... How do you all deal with the situation of having a mass of units but wanting to select just a specific number of them? Also, should I do a poll regarding many of those proposed points? Many on that list don’t seem that controversial (not so much on the follow up list I made).
  22. Two different bow types, posibly appropriate to the social status of its respective owner (higher ranking officer on a horse has a more valuable weapon thatn the "ordinary" archer. Looks like some sort of bamboo). Would they have been protected by the same armour?
  23. Interesting, looks like a Scythian bow. Makes sense the AI being biased towards the most generally known types of bow. Which generator are you using?
  24. Ideally - yes. Practically we need to choose appropriate number of polygons accounting how close camera in a regular game can be. Also I think baked AO shouldn't be so black as the human skin has significant subsurface scattering. So I'd make it warmer and leave darkening to normal maps. About normal maps in terms of the engine: they shouldn't contain noise as it's not good for compression quality and might lead to light flickering on our general scale.
  25. Superb! Tiny little observation: the lower bowstring of the lower image does not end at the bow but at the ring at the bag or arrow holder or whatever it is.
  26. Combined, I believe that's a better approach.
