An idea came to my mind today: since Aristeia is based on the Bronze age, why not introduce a new resourcce of bronze?

We can even introduce tin and copper then make the players synthesise bronze from these 2. So the resources would be: food, wood, stone, tin, copper.

What do you think?

Also Khopesh warriors of Egypt deserves better stats than they currently have.

add another resource it takes a long time to do the balace
in the AOE 3 WOL mod: they added an extra resource and it took 4 versions to make it useful and balanced
the resource could be coins, generated by the trade routes or faith by the temples with people in them
but it would be a phase 2 resource and for what upgrades or what troops? we don't have metropolis shipments, nor do all civs use mercenaries or champions in phase 2.

Easy way: rename metal to bronze because it is set in the Bronze Age and Iron was not discovered back then.

Bronze is metal. A metal alloy to be exact. You can't "mine" bronze. It's made of copper and tin. What could be done instead is just replace the iron anvil icons for metal with copper-ish ingots. This would hint at copper/bronze but keep the name generic enough to cover all metals used in the period.
