I believe that's because I changed the actor format in a breaking way but didn't really communicate on it.

See https://code.wildfiregames.com/rP22442

You now must use animation variants and the regular Walk/Idle formations instead of walk_testudo_front animations.

Okay, so what we need are variant files for Phalanx and Syntagma. @Alexandermb

Works great, after a lot of actor fixes on my end! :)

Actually no. As mentioned before, many of the soldiers don't always use the right animation in the formation based on their position (all special formations), soldiers spin around real fast at the end of a move, syntagma doesn't maintain the hedge hog look when idle (but the testudo and phalanx do).

This SVN or your mod?
The incorrect animation based on position is not something I recall seeing in svn but I can't say I've tested this code a huge amount.

Units still spin around at the end of a move though. :)

And sometimes while walking the units will randomly snap to their "regular" walking animation and then back into the "formation" walking animation.

Thats how they work, they sill will spin around suddendly, also clicking twice the formation makes them take the proper position/animation. And looking DE tons of actors are just a copy of SVN
