No. We kind of want to finish part one before we spend any time on something we might not even get to (Not saying we won't finish the game, just that it's a bit early to plan for the next part when we aren't even in Beta phase yet. No one of us who are involved now might be active at that point anyway, so there are plenty of reasons not to spend too much time on thinking about it, but very few why to spend time on it at this point Though thinking about it I seem to recall Michael posting a thread or two about post part 1 civs, at least eastern Romans seems like something I've seen. I don't remember if he's posted anything in the public forums though, the thread I'm thinking of was before we went open source.)
fatherbushido
a bit off topic but that is a partial answer: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/browser/art_source/trunk/grafx and mockups/world_of_0ad.jpg

It's of course relevant choices, but it can still be a bit misleading to show an image like that as people might take it for granted that those civilizations will be included. Haha but is an idea the kind of civs for second part. in the image for example are missing Sarmatians and Sasanids, the image is very outdated. True, but on that page it says "Civilizations of 0 A.D. part one and two", not "Suggestions for civilizations of 0 A.D. part one and two". So it is a bit misleading to say the least. av93
Didn't know that seleucids and ptolomies were thought about so long ago. I always thought that were added in the moment, like mauryans.

So it only says that the file was made at least 3 years ago, but most likely earlier P.S.: let's split the civilizations discussion into it's own topic?

If someone wants to start a new topic to discuss civilizations for part 2, feel free to do so (just be aware that you might not get any result from it for many years to come), but I doubt we need to discuss that image or Michael's ideas any further - he can add his opinion in a new thread if he wants to as well. wowgetoffyourcellphone
At a point of this, I feel "part 2" will be achieve through modding. Enjoy the choice. But of course, what is each alpha if not mod of the previous alpha? Edited October 7, 2016 by wowgetoffyourcellphone
feneur
I said you could discuss this in a new thread. So I have split this discussion into a new thread =)

wowgetoffyourcellphone
I'd rather we just dispense with the whole Part 1 and 2 thing. After 1.0, just have WFG release a large update every 1-2 years that's basically like an expansion pack (more civs, extra features, major engine improvements, etc), with balance fixes and minor bug fixes at 2-3 month intervals.

Add Palmyra, is short period of power but interesting.
