YES! Cant we make some improvements to Community mod in the mean time?? And when I say we, i mean not me. Unfortunately I know nothing about modding I'm happy to play test anything Some good points. I started a spartan page, i think there should be some changes to them. Since they are rather plain

I was discussing this in game with some people last night, I think there should be some infinitry axemen! Some that are double axe no shield, high dmg less resistnace and then of course some with big @#$% shields for shield wall -
if it's their whole army you should probably be aware and then you retreat until you gather more. So maybe its part of the aggressive stance and YOU can CHOOSE which to use something though where if they send a small raiding party and you are attacking their base and dont realize the alerts "you are being attacked" are from your base, the men in X area can work together to fight/chase up to x distance.

is taking steroids cheating in sports? there are people who have access to them but dont want to risk the long term consequences. I get there are no health concerns if you use it or not... but i disagree with it can not be cheating if everyone has access to it. I am getting fed up with ProGui as well. GUI, I'm all for. But the more things you automate the less a human has to think... it takes away from the people who are quick thinkers/decision makers. evens that out IMO.

I didnt realize it still does that! Ok so that helps you train them faster and they have more health... they still seem underutilized compared to their historic importance.

So i guess this is good, means things are relatively balanced I guess it depends on your playstyle too... risk vs reward. I just feel Gauls can boom fast have good eco and good hero, and Ptolmie have so many different strategies/options. I would put rome in the second tier.... I honestly only play Gauls/Rome/Spartans and I think spartan's are one of the weaker/simpler civs I have a different topic on that. Although their skiri are OP if played right.

I like this, it might be better off as its own thread, since not just dealing with spartans It would be nice to have just a little more variation between civs WITHOUT one civ being so OP that everyone only plays that.

I still think with Community mod you have stronger/weaker civs....I still put Ptolmies, Gauls in top tier... I don't think very highly of kush, seleucids. Also since @alre brought it up. is there somewhere that outlines the clear differences between a26 and community mod?

Thanks! i also think i realized part of my problem was my lvl 3 units and passive stance were teh same hot key but now i seemd to have lost lvl 3, lvl 2 units... where do i find the file to add them back in?

Is it just me or do skiri always start in defensive stance? Is there a way to set them to aggressive like other men. Would also be nice to set women to defensive especially spartan women! I know you can try and remember to do it manually... but it almost seems when i try more of that unit they all seem to go back to the default ie skiris if i have 10 and set them to aggressive then train 5 more and have them attack move all 15 are defensive...

It might be cool if rams gained speed with garrisoned units. The more people pushing the ram, the faster it should go right? I don't think any of the rams were motorized back then

I think if people were less toxic, and didnt abuse the rules as much it would be a little more fun... I don;t get the point of "multi accounts" which a lot of you refer to as smurfs... to me a smurf is someone who is good, loses on purpose and has low rating... so like 800 but really should be 1500-1700. Multis are all these accounts with 1-0, 3-0, 5-0 win/losses that keep popping up over and over. So you dont know if its a new player, an experienced play with a new account or what not. -
yeah i like 15-25 minute games Otherwise i start to lose focus!

Thanks! I will try and find someone to mess around with it on. The problem with all the different mods is its harder to find games. Even community mod, not everyone is on board. I defintley prefer multiplayer games instead of the AI So i did mess around with it, and there are parts i LIKE! but it does seem a bit more complicated... I dont like how soldiers can't gather, only women and slaves... seems to be "slower" of a game. Hopefully they take some of the ideas from it though and implement into next alpha/community mod. I know skiriati are really powerful, but I dont remember if i've mention this above. It can be hard to mass them and push while ur still ahead/even pop/eco.

It really bothers me that if someone attacks a single unit on the woodline (or anywhere) the remaining units continue working as if nothing happend. One suggestion i heard was control groups, which i use! So a more specific example would be if Im attacking the opponent and they send a counter attack to my woodline, they can pick the women off 1 by one and the men continue to chop. I dont know im being attacked, because Im attacking/being attacked at their base. So the idea would be that when set in agressive stance they will stop what they are doing and fight within X distance of each other. So if one unit gets attacked woodline other units within X would fight alongside. Does that make sense? is it possible?

This is great news, the only problem now is a27's release has been temporarily halted for the foreseeable future Unfortunately, I'm not very tech savvy, I can't really contribute with coding etc. But I do have a lot of spare time and can definitely test things out! I feel like I came across a thread to download a27 to test for bugs/balance? I could do that. It would be nice if some of these things could be implemented into a new version of community mod so more people could test things out easier.

Thanks! The problem with all these patches is that then the people you play against need to have it right? It would be nice if some were implemented into communit mod. Speaking of which Iber get 20% extra melee bonus tech from forge... Im sure there is some historical significance there, but maybe Spartans could also have another additional txt. Since skirtai are pretty strong, maybe it's only avialble to spearmen. I remember when the 25% health bonus also applied to Agnus, who had 2k health and then with it 2500 health. He was a recking ball!

I have talked to Borg- in game about this. I just haven't been very active on forum I think if spartiates had Naked fantic speed.... that would help
