Oooh looking very nice. How many triangles? Should probably keep it less than 3000 or so.

we have a little problem here :loool:

I was already thinking about this, I will try a different approach mainly for the ram he has a lot of triangles on his wings.

    * Another exclusive unique unit i.e. the maya bee bomb could be interesting

    -Good idea, my initial idea was this, but currently I believe that an update to towers with wasp attack would be more plausible;

    * Personally I think Sajaloob and Aj Payal should be merged as one unit or made to have different stats, as they are exactly the same. Other units should be made to have different stats or merged to make them more viable.

-We can apply this to the traditional mod, and leave the two units separate for the extended mod.

    * I think all of the content that isn't in the mod currently from past pages of the forum would be good to add either in the current mod or the 'extended' version (unless that's already planned)

    That's our idea XD

    * Always felt strange how the ballcourt champions are classed/based on cavalry. Personally I think they should just be infantry class but very fast as another all infantry civ alongside zapotecs. I like the idea of them becoming cavalry in captured non americas stables

This was mainly done for the AI to know how to use the units, they are not champions or "normal" units the orders of warriors or noble warriors are stronger and faster units because they are better equipped and training, unfortunately I don't know how to say this to AI without putting them like cavalry behind the scenes.

It's incredible how the Maya's ancient fashion still has trickled into their modern fashion even with colonial influence! (Addressing your first 2 posts).

Regarding this post, I'm not sure whether this your saying that they need to be more exposed in game, or whether as a general informative statement. Though if we are talking about the the former, it would make sense with the Yucatan having the thickest rainforest climate compared to the rest of Mesoamerica...

Unrelated, but I do wonder if the olmecs had much of an influence on maya fashion in general, or if it was mostly self-developed. Sadly not enough information on the Olmecs to know.

    About the relationship between the Olmecs and the Mayas during the preclassic was intense and complex, I think we will discover much more with time, an interesting case is the city: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takalik_Abaj ;

ERROR: Could not load biome file 'generic/tropic'

I think this bug from the ancient American empires mod?

Found some more bugs, though not sure whether the first one is or not:

Isn't the lenca spearman supposed to be trained from the embassy?

And Huun Balam has made it so his chair floats after death; truly the chosen of the gods!

Oh yeah, what happened to the civic centre variations? Alot of other variations for other structures have disappeared as well

    screenshot0003.png

    screenshot0002.png

Some building models only map editor. The Lencas are really at the embassy, and the Huun Balam will be fixed (that was funny)

I am currently adding the Suebian Germans and the Epirotes.

There are relatively mature repos for Thracians, Illyrians, Yayoi, and Maya which can be added to make a nice well-rounded roster. All of these could probably be added to the Terra Magna repo and in good working order within a couple weeks. I have not looked at the Garamantes repo (if there is one). Lusitanians would be an awesome add too.

So, that would bring the list to:

    Epirotes

    Garamantes (?)

    Illyrians

    Lusitanians

    Maya

    Scythians**

    Suebian Germans

    Thebans**

    Thracians

    Xiongnu**

    Yayoi Japanese

    Zapotecs**

A list rivaling the list of vanilla civs. :D

**= Already in the TM repo.

+ Syracuse ???  https://github.com/0ADMods/Syracuse-mod (I'm fixing some bugs caused by the update.)

Very good, in addition to the observations I sent you in the personal messages, can we see a cc a little more traditional for them? Maybe a palace or administrative center, I know it existed but I'm out of references now.

    This is obvious.
That's why I don't recommend nerfing the stats of Japanese units even a little bit, even if it's more realistic, but in the future we won't be able to balance Native Americans with stone weapons.

off topic: I imagine what the Spaniards would feel with the Mapuches already in the 16th/17th century, war is much more than weapons and technologies, but also morality, knowledge of local geography and logistics.

Fire is mostly used to kill people inside buildings or to force people out, sure it does some damage to structures as well.

For me this is about immersion, on a scale 1 to 10 capture-delete is 1, sword and arrows 7 and fire depending on mechanics and more importantly how great the art is between 3 to 10. So yes, I fear fire to be possibly worse than sword and arrows, but hopeful for @Lopess for proving me wrong.

I don't know if it was the translation but it was impossible to understand your point. But I think it's something like it's more interesting to be shooting normal arrows or slamming swords against walls than set fire or use more suitable equipment

Every aspect of combat in 0 AD (and most other games like it) is tremendously abstracted. If you hypothetically wanted to simulate the process of attacking buildings in more detail I'd vote to go all out: with actual fire propagation spreading to other nearby buildings, attackers adding more torches to make it burn faster but not actually doing damage, and defenders "repairing" the building by throwing water on.

That games are abstractions from reality this is a non-discussion, just in my view. What I come here is to expose an idea of a smarter and more interesting way to attack the structure. Between stabbing rock walls with a sword or with a piece of wood there is little difference, in fact it would be more interesting with wood instead of destroying your precious weapon of war.

Capture-delete is just a helpless compensation for the soldier not having an effective means of siege, which is why I think arson should be added, even if someone feels that the torch is not good enough, then I think it is better to let all soldiers take pickaxes, sledgehammers, logging axes and other tools to demolish buildings than now.

This makes perfect sense to me, a unit pulls out a pickaxe to mine but uses a sword against a stone wall.

  12.   An idea I've always had and that I believe many have in common is that units with swords and spears attacking stone or solid wood structures is something very strange, but I believe the time and opportunity has come to change that, I believe attacking with torches /fire are less aggressive on closer inspection. I also know that other techniques like digging holes under structures also existed.
