Well, that could perhaps be a good thing in some game, but not in this game. At least unless someone makes a mod that adds slavery to the game. (For a discussion on why one don't want to make an entirely (historically or otherwise) accurate game: http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11671 )

No, 0 A.D. will be a fairly traditional Real Time Strategy game in that you'll have command over an entire civilisation, including buildings and civilian units.
-
I suggest that you try again, the site was a bit slow when I tried to view it, and didn't load properly at first, when I refreshed the page it worked fine though, so yeah try again

Indeed they are, check the topmost news item on the TLA website (http://wildfiregames.com/tla/) for more info.

You can read more about resources in this showcase: http://www.wildfiregames.com/0ad/page.php?p=11565

I don't remember exactly at the moment, and don't have the time to check it right now, but in any case the appearance of the unit will change, and that is at least a bit of indication.

Some hot feelings here? Perhaps you should cool down a bit, it's just a game after all There are two big reasons for whether or not a feature will be a part of the game: Does it add to the gameplay/realism? Do we have the possibility to develop it? And while some of the things you talk about could add to the gameplay/realism, we simply don't have the manpower required to develop everything. Concerning that earlier question about why we don't do all things different from other games: Sometimes there's a reason a lot of games do things in a similar way. While innovation can be fun, and if it's good make a game more fun to play, it can also be quite pointless if what's already been done is good. Not only will a different way of doing things add to the learning curve (and while some people enjoy reading lengthy manuals before jumping into a game I'm sure most don't), there's also a risk that the innovative way of doing something might be worse than the old.

(Just a small thing, I couldn't help but find it funny that the error message says that the operation completed successfully, as if that's the opposite of what was supposed to happen There is probably a very logical explanation for this, but still )
-
Depends on what you're talking about, but I guess you talk about our website. On this website you can follow the progress of 0 A.D. a game that we (Wildfire Games) are developing.
-
Well, while it would take some work it would just be for you to make it into a real faction, so it's not a huge problem. Only thing would be that if we add non-playable factions they would most likely not have the same number of units etc as an ordinary faction, so it would not be a very balanced game play unless one changed some more We'll see what happens. And no matter how much I'd like to I'm not able to answer that question about when we'll ship the game. There's too many unknown variables, and I'm not a professor in math or something in the first place

We've had some discussions on this, but in the end it comes down to how much time and people we have available, so while it's an interesting idea we cannot guarantee anything.
-
Yes, that's our intention. There's no reason to invent the wheel all over after all And that is one thing that at least in my opinion is a very good concept. It's fairly easy, but still reasonably realistic, so to me it's a a good way to do things.
-
Well, if you'd read the comments on that page you'd seen that it's not misspelled at all. It's just spelled the British way.
-
It does say "currently under development", but in case you can think of a better way to phrase it, please tell us so we can make it more obvious. Welcome to the Wildfire Games forums btw
-
Well, while we are making it from scratch that doesn't mean that it's not inspired by other editors
-
Thanks And we will
-
Well, as always expected minimum requirements and the like are not to be taken too seriously. 0 A.D. will run on both Windows, Mac and Linux (as many different versions as are reasonable, but I'd guess Windows XP and most likely Vista, at least one version of Mac OS X and a bunch of Linux varieties, so yeah Ubuntu is very possible).
-
Welcome Alyssea! Thanks for the nice words and I hope you'll find the process towards a finished game as interesting as we do.

I'd think even future employers have humor though

Lol That was funny

Oh, it's that time of the year Pity we do it later in Europe so it gets even harder to convert between different time zones for a while -

I'm guessing you mean the December/January? Sorry for being such a nitpick, but that's the way I am -

As I wasn't the one in contact with Ancient Warfare I don't know if you should get some account details, so we'll have to wait for Michael for that. The missed 'D' could of course be a cause of trouble, wouldn't think so though as you were supposed to send your shipping details to Michael/Bobby, so I guess it's somewhere there that the trouble is rather than here. (The only way I can see (=could be some other way, but I don't see how) that missed 'D' being of any importance would be in case someone would have seen that it only was one 'D' there and then registered as MAXDARK, but as there is no such user and since Michael/Bobby should have realized that something was wrong if they got information from two people that can't really be the problem.) -

Ok, perhaps something went wrong in the process somewhere then. Especially since Caesar obviously got his Since I wasn't the one in contact with Ancient Warfare I can't help you further, but I'll alert Michael (aka Mythos_Ruler) of the problem and we'll see what we can do -

What issue is it that you haven't got? The Dec/Jan or the February/March? I haven't got the Feb/Mar issue yet either and I'm living in Sweden. I just went to the Ancient Warfare site and checked and found this: http://www.ancient-warfare.com/cms/index.p....html&Itemid=98 so if it's indeed the 1-2008 issue you're talking about it shouldn't be too far away. If you didn't get the last issue though, then I'd suggest that you contact Ancient Warfare directly.
