  1. It's definitely our intention at the very least But the wind is unpredictable so we can't promise anything (It should just be to delay the release in such a case though, so it shouldn't be a problem unless something unexpected happens).
  2. There was, but the cinematic system most likely will have to be either redone completely or at least changed a bit to work with the changes to the engine that has been introduced since then.
  3. Agreed. I thought about it and thought it was on the edge of being too controversial to be good to have in these forums, since you have bad feelings about it as well, and it is a controversial topic I'm going to close the topic. Not because I don't think people are entitled their own opinion/express it, but because I believe there are better places to do it than these forums. These forums should primarily be for discussing 0 A.D. and while other topics certainly are allowed, controversial topics should go somewhere else as they're more likely to take away from the development/community than add to it. That said, I'm not going to delete the topic, but rather direct anyone who wants to discuss this with Øyvind to do so via Private Messages to him directly (please do note that due to a lot of spam we've limited access to the PM functions to members who have posted ten or more posts, so if you find that you're able to send a PM, just wait 'til you have posted a few more posts).

  5. Do you have an Nvidia graphics card? If so, have you read through the posts here: http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=13668 ? Especially the ones towards the end, where it gives instructions on how to upgrade to the latest version of said drivers. If not, what graphics card do you use? What drivers?

When the primary features work things like this could be looked at (though I doubt a project like this would be able to reliably do what few companies have done so far and create an voice command system that actually works), but for now I wouldn't call it a priority. At least since there are other ways, like TeamSpeak etc which has already been mentioned, to allow players to have voice chat

  14. First an advertisment and then some info. Fortunately for him, but unfortunately for us, our current Sound Lead, Matt Sherman, has become too busy with real life work to lead the Sound Department. Thus we're looking for a new person to fill this position, see below for what qualities we're looking for. A note first however: a huge part of being part of a project like this is communication, so you should be prepared that quite some time will be spent on reading/replying in forums, reading emails, PMs etc. Please see the Application form for more info on how to apply for this and other positions. To try and improve the forum experience we've removed a few forums and added a few new ones: The General Chat forum is now the only forum for topics which are not related to 0 A.D. or Wildfire Games. We've added a new Scenario Design/Map making forum where you can showcase your maps/screenshots as well as discuss how to improve your map making skills. As the game is still in development there's a risk for bugs, if you find them please report them in the Bug reports forum There's also a new Spread 0 A.D. forum where you can discuss how to get the word out to others about the game.
  15. It seems you're on Windows? And using the pre-built .exe? While Philip is the one who'd know I'm pretty sure this change requires the .exe to be re-built, which is now done, so it should just be to update SVN and the error should be gone

  17. Is the game allowed to access the internet? A firewall/antispyware program could be blocking it even if the port is open. Also, the process is called pyrogenesis.exe on Windows so that's what you'd have to add to your antispyware's whitelist of programs to allow access to the internet.
  18. Would it be hard to add something like % of map discovered? There are a lot of other things which would make sense to add later, but that could be worthwhile to have already if it's not too hard to implement.
  19. The text isn't close enough to being finalized, so it's a bit too soon to start any actual work on translating the game. It would be useful to discuss the best technology for the translation framework though, so it can be implemented as quickly/effortlessly as possible. There have been some discussion in other topics, but that consisted merely of mentioning one or two different softwares, so this topic can definitely be a good place to do that.

    That depends on your firewall I'm afraid, so it's not too easy to help you with that. I assume you've got a manual or something to help you with it? It might be called something like Forward ports/Port Range forward, or perhaps even open ports, I don't know If you still can't find something (a google search for some of the above words and the kind of router/firewall you have can also be useful), you can post the name of the router/firewall and we can try and help you.

    I think that just allows the game to access the internet, you'd still need to open the specific port as well.

    Has he opened the correct port in his firewall? (UDP port 20595) (Or you if it's you who's hosting.)
  24. Ranged cavalry already have that ability. I personally don't think it makes sense to add it to the non-ranged cavalry though.
