Ubuntu ppa abandoned?
Lion.Kanzen replied to rolandixor's topic in Game Development & Technical Discussion
Yes, I use them. I got the last alpha XVII in my Linux. -
Is dificult convince to the team to add new civilization I like the idea to add new civilization like Scythian, Numidian ( they are African too), Pontic Kingdom, Thracian, Han, Mayans(Preclassic period). By the way you need first have a very complete document desing with valid sources that even have heroes and Wonders. And need be strictly in 500 BC to 500 A.D All civilization in game have one document design. http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Civ%3A_Ptolemies And you need search architecture style if the civilization faction have own.

The Big Eyecandy Progress List

The Slave Market Picture Location of the Slave Market in Rome The location of the first Slave Market in Ancient Rome was situated in the area called the Graecostadium behind the Basilica Julia in the Roman Forum. The market was huge and extremely popular with the Romans. The trade in slaves was highly lucrative. The best slaves were to be found in the saepta (built by Septimius Severus near the forum) which was the market and meeting place of the wealthy Romans, where the best shops were. Slave Market in Rome - The Graecostadium The name Graecostadium means 'market for Greek slaves. Some of the first large numbers of Roman slaves came from Greece. Many Greeks were brought to Rome as slaves. Aemilius Paulus, the victor of the Battle of Pydna in Greece in 168 BC is said to have taken the profit from selling 150,000 Greeks to Rome. Trade at the Graecostadium was extremely brisk during this period. Roman Slave Market - the Sale of Slaves The sale of slaves at the Slave Market was conducted in many ways in the exactly the same way as other goods and wares. The sellers would emphasize the features and benefits and any unique selling points. Slaves for sale would sometimes be stood almost naked on revolving stands so the buyers could see exactly what they were purchasing. New arrivals brought from abroad were put on display with one foot whitened with chalk. Roman law demanded that dealers disclosed the ethnic origin (natio) of the slaves they were selling. So placards (tituli) were hung from the necks of the slaves for sale detailing their nationality, origin, abilities, their good and, less frequently, their bad points. If the dealer was not able to offer any guarantees the slave was made to wear a special cap called a pillei on his head. The entire empire was a working ground for the slave trade business. Slaves were shipped to provinces and sold at the local slave markets, with some of the providers working also as tax collectors. Often times if a family couldnt pay off their tax, they were taken into slavery, until they pay-off their debt. It is in these markets that the slaves were bought and re-sold to the wealthy slave masters, after the new property was shipped via ship or a caravan to their destinations. One of the bigger slave markets was situated on the Greek island of Delos, with the capacity to hold up to 10,000 slaves. The most common source of slaves were the prisoners of war, criminals which were sentenced to slavery for their crimes also know as Servi poanae. The children born into slavery sanguinolenti - had no rights, just as their parents. A mainstream of slaves followed Romes path of conquest and their ethnicity depending on winch part of the Mediterranean the Empire would expand in. Among the enslaved were people from Northern Italy, Greece, Iberia, Gallia, The Balkans, Egypt, Northern Africa, Britain, Dacia, Parthia. Finding references... -

The Olympia site had great religious significance and was the location which Alexander's father Philip II chose to begin building a temple-like structure called the Philippeion as a votive offering to the gods after his victory at the battle of Chaeronea in 338 BC. Inside, located on semi-circular plinths, were placed gold and ivory statues of the Macedonian royal family including Alexander (materials usually reserved for the gods) in honour of the dynasty of Macedonian kings. The building was reportedly completed by Alexander. The Philippeion was a circular structure of stone and marble which featured a colonnade of 18 Ionic columns around the porch or peristyle and an inner colonnade of 9 Corinthian half-columns around the wall and a roof of carved marble tiles and crowned with a bronze poppyhead. So anyone honoring the statue of Zeus in his temple had only to walk a very short distance in order to also gaze upon the figure of Alexander. ----------------- This web have a variety of resources http://documents-macedon.blogspot.com -

I suggest add to the props the Kauria hat. For light units like light cavalry and infantry ranged http://wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=17651&p=303183 There my reference -
I was some intrigue with this. Because is similar to Afgan hat, so I try to investigate around... and found the Kausia Hat The kausia (Ancient Greek: καυσία[1]) was an ancient Macedonian flat hat. It was worn during the Hellenistic period but perhaps even before the time of Alexander the Great[2] and was later used as a protection against the sun by the poorer classes in Rome.[3] Depictions of the kausia can be found on a variety of coins and statues found from the Mediterranean to the Greco-Bactrian kingdom and the Indo-Greeks in northwestern India. The Persians referred to the Macedonians as Yaunã Takabara or "Greeks with hats that look like shields", possibly referring to the Macedonian kausia hat.[4] A modern descendant of the hat may be the Pakol, or 'Chitrali cap': the familiar, and remarkably similar, men's hat from the mountains of Afghanistan.[5]

The colors in the helmets needs be more plain , not a great contrast -
You can have isometric view if you change some settings manually of course. The hot key to building is planned there are a ticket in our wiki. You can produce units with following keys "ZXCVBNM," To rotate buildings place and hold with mouse key pressed. You can see berries in minimap as under green color.

if its happens to you try to reset game cache or test if is happens when release is come out. Some time ago I was have a problem similar when I started some buildings gives me a warning but only happens to me, I thing I did was reset the cache launch the release instead of svn and I don't have that issue anymore. Is kind of mirage.

Can be nice attached screenshots -
@igot2b Is interesting idea two players control single faction? Or two faction are with same color but share the control assigned two players?

That the big problem here be don't have active art team members.I know we work with great quality standards. But we are playing with same Seleucid place holders , and there are 14 months, are props not whole set of buildings ( Lordgood works faster with great quality) only needs review to your work. The Mauryan trader is not finished, so Mauryans are not finished yet, now we have José ( the new animator) working with new models, have great quality too. I know this a hobby, and we don't have the pressure to finish, we are unique in the industry. But can be nice take some decisions about art and design team, we need a design team. Because after lost Michael we lost some gameplays features decisions these actually are freeze, like corral but that matter is other topic.

can be nice you attached to the ticket or post related post forum , slightly I remember you made some related. http://trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/2293 These tickets have more than a year open, i mean these bunch of tickets related to art and props. Lordgood can review them? -------off topic------ May be the art leaders need to know, happens with my emblems , only I had some feedback, they aren't active. The ptolemaic emblem need be redesign.

Suggestions for the Gauls
Lion.Kanzen replied to Germanic_celt79's topic in Eyecandy, custom projects and misc.
too move need ask a moderators like Feneur. But you must be patient because isn't a official task is more like a "nice to have" task. And Lordgood and Stan can help you with buildings, I can help you con 2D units art or with emblems or symbols.Something can you do is bring more volunteers to help you, found a Artist (3D) and convince him to help you. But all decisions pass for Enrique or Pureon, first. In forum art can be more obvious for them see your proposal. -
